Four of us are going to WDW in September and we are going w/the dining plan. Do you think PS's are really needed in September?? Anyone have experiences with this? We went last year and made PS's but felt we were tied down; thinking of just winging it this year...

It all depends on where you are going? If you want CRT then yes. Also places like 50's and Sci-fi it might be best to have them. Chef Mickey's probably wouldn't hurt either.

It really all depends on the places.

i agree w/cobbler. if there a place you really have your heart set on, then make the PS. happy eating! :earboy2:

We went last September and here are the 4 PSs that we had

a 2:00 PS for CRT
a 2:00 PS for Sci-Fi
a 4:30 PS for RFC in AK
a 2:00 PS for Le Cellier

For CRT we got there about 15 minutes prior to our PS time like you're supposed to and we still waited 40-45 minutes to be seated. It was awful- we were so hungry! If you are going to go here, you should DEFINITELY have a PS.

For Sci-Fi we got there 15 minutes early again and waited about 20-25 minutes to be seated. Again, I think I would try to have a PS here if you're considering it. It was really busy!

For RFC, we got there right at 4:30 due to watching the AK parade and walked right in. It wasn't very busy at all, but when we left around 5:30 it was getting pretty packed.

For Le Cellier we got there 15 minutes early and were seated right at our PS time of 2:00. It wasn't busy at all. I'd say we were one of only about 5-6 groups in there at the time. I LOVE this place, though, and would make a PS again just to be sure that we didn't have to miss out.

Of course, last September there was no Dining Plan, so I think less people may have been visiting TS restaurants than there are now. I'd say if you can make a plan in advance, do it. Then you won't have to worry about missing out on some of your favs :)

We went last Sept/Oct and we made at least one PS per day, a couple of days we had 2 PS. We did hear people who just walked in to try to get seated be told there were waits of at least 2 hours several times, and once or twice they were turned away completely. This was places like 50's PTC (turned away), Chef Mickey's, etc. My kids are small and would not deal well having to wait 2 hours to be seated, but if your party is all adults it may not matter.

Htope this helps!

We go to WDW many times a year (5 trips last year) and never during holiday times. We would never go without PS. No matter when we go we continue to hear and see CMs turn folks away at a variety of restraurants. We make some before we leave, esp. character meals if we plan to do them, and we make some PS the day before at the front desk of our resort. This year our trips were for January and May, and we still have trips for July, September, October, and December, and I will be making my PS before each one. When and where I eat are important to me, and I avoid all dissappointments when on vacation. This is something I have control over. You don't have to make your PS so early. Sometimes I'm still fine tuning my PS just days before leaving. We just returned from a 16 trip to WDW and we had PS for most of the days (at least one a day) and we were glad we did as we saw folks being turned away, especially during dinner.
