DW and I will be in WDW for our Anniversary this coming Nov 11 (14 years of BLISS!!!!) and we wanted to have dinner at R&C.

We wanted to time our reservation so that we had a good chance of getting an outside table and see Illuminations.

We currently have a ressie for the last seating (8pm).

Since we can't reserve an outside table (first come, first serve), we don't know if our plan will work.

Anyone have a better idea?

Would another restaurant be a better choice like the top of the Contemporary to see the fireworks at MK?

Thank!

emmagata,

An outside table at the Rose & Crown (along with an outside table at Cantina de San Angel in Mexico) is the best place in a restaurant to sit and eat and watch IllumiNations. Just get there early (I'd say at least 30 minutes before your PS time), ask for an outside table close to the water, and wait for one to open up. And if the cast member is really good about it, consider getting him or her a WWWD pin!

On our last trip (our 14th anniv.) we arrived at about 7:00, we had a 7:30 ps. I explained to the hostess that we had a PS for 7:30, we were celebrating our 14th anniv and DH's B-day (marry your hubby on his b-day and he will never forget your anniv!) and we would dearly love to be seated on the patio. And Bippity-Bopity-Boo! We found ourselves w/ a fantastic view of Illuminations. Oh, and get the Prime Rib, it is fantastic!

Thanks!!

Does anyone think that an 8pm PS is too late? Should I change it to 7:30?

Your 8PM PS should be ok, as long as F&W is over. Like others have said, you may want to get there 1/2 hour to 45 minutes ahead of your PS just in case. Make sure you dress warmly, the breeze coming off the water can be chilly.

Congrats on 14 years, and best of luck getting your outside table.

We've had good luck with 7:30 PSs. By the time you are nearing dessert, it should be close to 9:00. If the restaurant is busy, by the time you are seated and order even without dessert it might be nine. This happened to us a few weeks ago.

Someone posted here recently about dining at 6:45 and hanging onto their table for Illuminations. If lots of people are doing this 8:00 might be too late.

I would also suggest moving your ps to an earlier time. We've done the R&C for dinner on our last two trips and on both occasions we had to wait up to 30 minutes for a table to open up. By the time we sat down to eat, it was 8pm. We ended up feeling a little rushed to get our dinner ordered and eaten and to have our dessert and coffee served by Illuminations time.
