I could only get a PS for 2 people during our trip. What are the chances of them letting a third person in - - it is me, my husband and my Granddaughter. Should I cancel? Should I try for Crystal Palace???
Thanks

I, honestly, would not count on them allowing for more than 2. If that is all they had open, then that's all the seats they have... I would not chance showing up and being turned away, personally. Esp with a little one that might be disappointed, and a deposit that's not refundable at that point.

That being said, keep checking back! People cancel ALL THE TIME, esp that breakfast because so many snag that one and continue to work on getting CRT. Just be sure to cancel it before your deposit is charged. You might want to go ahead and book the Crystal Palace as well, just in case, and you can cancel that if you are able to get the third person in.

I had this very same situation, but at 1900 Park Fair for the Cindy dinner. At first I thought it would be fine for me to go with my niece alone to the dinner and leave uncle Brent to his own devices for dinner. Then, uncle Brent was sick the day we were supposed to go to Crystal Palace, so niece Jonna and I went alone. I swore to NEVER take a 4-year-old to a buffet alone again. Not a fun experience. So I was going to cancel Cindy's dinner. I had been calling to try to get a cancelation for months, no openings for three. I was heart broken. We were at the Grand Floridian the night before our priority seating, so I poped in to speak with the front desk. I explained my dilema and told the man at the front desk I was thinking of canceling my PS. He said nonsence!! Just tell us when you arrive that you have three instead of two.

It really was no problem. They seated most parties of two at a four person table anyway. We were all seated right on time, and everything worked out great!!

My advice, stop by the breakfast on one of the days before and just ask. When we ate at the PSB it seemed to me that most of those tables were for four as well.

I don't think you will have a problem. This happened to me for CINDY"S! last April. I called everyday at 7:00 am and by the time I was off hold, all ressie's were gone! I called later in the day and got one because of a cancellation. Only problem it was a table for 4 and we needed 6. I took it anyway and that morning DH slept late but I brought my DM with me and DD's and asked at the desk if we could add a person and the they said no problem!!And this was Easter week!! So it can't hurt to try! Good luck!

I will have this same problem in Dec. My ILs aren't getting passes for all 9 days. I don't know when they will be eating with us and when they won't.

My husband said to count on them eating and then we will tell the CM at the podium when we arrive if we have less people. If I call to cancel I will lose our reservation and the restaurant may not have another one to give us for fewer people.

I am not going to stress over this. I am not going to stress over this. I am not going to stress over this. Now I feel better!

I can relate to your post Lori (pirateofthecarolinas)! The first week of June we were supposed to go to the beach, DH, myself, and our 2 ds's. Back if Feb when I made the reservations, DH asked his parents if they wanted to go too, since the house we booked had 4 bedrooms, and we only needed two. They said they'd think about it and let us know, no big deal.

The day before we were supposed to leave, we had to cancel because of a problem at DH work. I called MIL to see if they still wanted the house, I could pay $75 to have it transferred (less than 24 hours before checkin was the reason for the fee) and save having to cancel it and lose the money. SHE DIDN'T KNOW YET IF THEY WERE GOING! Hello!?!

She thought it would be fun to go to Disney with us, and as much as I really do like and love my IL's, NO WAY! I told DH, and he agreed. If they would happen to go (WDW is a free place, I can't stop them, lol), they can't eat with us because they won't decide to go until 2 days before, and I'm not fooling with that!

Please don't let it stress you too bad! I ran the scenario of all the horrible things that would happen if they did go through my head for hours and lost 2 nights of sleep over it almost.

I am hoping everyone's advice is true!

I made reservations at Whispering Canyon for 16 people, but we will also have an 18 month old in a highchair as well. I hope when we get there for our lunch, they can just squeeze her in, since they have round tables. For the Princess breakfast I reserved for 9 because I was told the infant had to have a seat, so we will have to have 2 tables, which I really didn't want to have. I made these ressies first, then the ones for WC with group dining, and "forgot" to mention the infant so that our group could be seated at 2 tables for 8. I'm just crossing my fingers......
