We will be taking our first trip to WDW as a family for a week 10/29 - 11/06 this year. We have the dining plan and I have been looking at so many places to eat. How do you decide how to plan meals. We will probable do MK first, also doing MNSSHP. But I am still at a loss to plan out where to eat that far in advance. I know October is not suppose to be as crowded. How many of you plan out PS and how many just decide where to eat while you are there. There are 5 of us, me, dw, and 3 dds. How hard do you think it will be to get in places if you have no PS. Thanks,

Some places book up and you won't be able to get in without a PS. I looked at the menus and decided what I thought my family would enjoy. I planned which days we would be where and chose my restaraunts accordingly. If you want character meals I would definately make a ps (CRT, PSB, CM, CP). Others may have others that book up. You can look at last years hours and figure what time parks close. YOu might do better asking on the Restaraunt thread. Good luck.

For five people I would definitely make reservations, at least for dinner. We normally have a big breakfast, just a snack or light meal for lunch, and a big dinner. Check out the menus on allearsnet.com. You will find loads of places that you will enjoy at all the parks. Don't forget about eating at the resorts near your theme park of the day (or that part of the day). For the Magic Kingdom you have the Contemporary, Poly, and Grand Floridain all on the monorail. From Epcot or the Disney Studios you can walk or boat to the Epcot area to eat. Look over the dining options at the Boardwalk, Beach and Yacht Clubs and Swan/Dolphin.

For our first trip, I narrowed it down to the 5 places I really wanted to eat dinner at. I made Ps's for the 5 days for dinner, considering which park we'd be at for that day. I decided which park by which one had early entry hours. And my plan sort of worked. We only cancelled once and then it wasn't difficult to find another place to eat. Although we went at a far less crowded time of the year. Good luck! :flower:

We are going in 10 days! and I didn't want to take the chance of not being able to get into the places we wanted the most. Not to mention that if we waited and couldn't get in any good places without a PS we would have lost our TS credits (by not being able to use them) and then had to pay for a CS meal (not good!). Or, if you can get in them I have read about having to wait as much as 2 hours for a table and then taking another 1 to 1-1/2 hours to eat. I need to make the most out of my time there and couldn't afford to have to wait to long for a table. You will need to plan what park and when anyway so why not go ahead and make your PS's? You can always try to change them when you get there if something happens and you need to change your plans. :goodvibes
Do you need to know some of the best TS to eat at?

i HIGHLY reccomend (sp)
Birnbaum's 2005 WDW Dining Guide!

It has comments on EVERY restaurant in the world (walt disney world) and a money guide ($$$).

instructions on how to book at table at WDW

a section on the bars and clubs in the World
a section on recipes from places in Disney and a section on Celebration.

the book was 11.95 and we love it!!! after reading the comments and
about how much it will cost we go onto the web site that was reccomended and get menus on the places we want to go so we are ready to order when we get there and don't take up a table for too long and also dn't miss out on our park adventures!!
