Hi,
I have just tried to book fantasmic dinner package at H&V only to be told they were fully booked. as this booking was for over 4 weeks time i didn't think it was an issues, but seems like i have missed the boat.

any tips or ideas on how i can.........

a. get round this on the day
b. not queue for hours on end to see fantasmic

have 1 v. fussy 9 year old DS for whom the buffet style at H&V would have been ideal...

my first holiday setback, so can't complain too much

thanks in advance for your help.

Lynne

It's always worth asking on the day if there are any seatings available for the Fantasmic package. There are often cancellations, so you could be lucky.

Failing that, you'll either have to bite the bullet and take your seats for Fantasmic early (take some snacks with you to eat whilst you wait instead of having a sit down meal), or be prepared to stand at the back if you want to leave it until later to get into the stadium.

I wouldn't risk leaving it later than about 45 minutes before the start to get in (even if you're on the dinner package you are required to be there no later than 30 minutes before, or they can't guarantee you a seat), but a lot of it is down to how busy the parks are when you'll be there.

There are no 'bad seats' for Fantasmic, and the ones reserved for those on the dinner package are no better than any others (and some say they are not as good).

4 weeks before you actually want a booking is cutting it fairly short in my book, people start booking 90 days or so ahead, which is why youve had trouble.
Turn up on the day and you might be lucky if somebody else hasnt turned up for their PS.

You dont have to queue for hours for fantasmic, an hour before the show go to the audotorium, and follow everybody else, they seat in a specific area, so no seats are left unfilled(this is done row by row)

Last September, we bought food from a self service cafe, e.g burgers and chips or pizza and salad and took them in with us. Therefore we got in an hour before, got wonderful seats in the centre and ate the food while we waiting for the show to start. The CMs there didnt stop us doing this, so im sure this is allowed. :D

We did the PS here last year. We had to book a table very early (around 4pm) to get one - I would have liked one about an hour later.

While we were waiting to be seated several people came up asking to see if they could get a meal and were told to come back in an hour and they would definitely be OK and were being encouraged to have the Fantasmic package as well. They were being added to the PS list as they did this. It was clear that they leave a certain amount of places for people on the day as opposed to PS bookings - going on the day seems the best option.

We tried to book the Fantasmic dinner package about 3 months before we went at Easter and they said all restaurants were fully booked.

However when we were there, on our first day at Disney we went to Guest Services and asked to book Hollywood & Vine for the week after and it was fine. It's always worth trying again as there are always cancellations.

We had a lovely buffet meal and really enjoyed the show. We have also been to Mama Melrose which is also nice.

Just to let you know I just booked a Fantasmic dinner package for Monday 7th June. I couldn't believe how easy it was. The guy on the 'phone was very helpful, though a little slow. I also booked a character breakfast at Chef Mickeys and a table at The Rainforest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom. I dread to think how much the phone call will be...
We're leaving on the 27th May and I'm so excited I can't sleep!!!
