Hi,

With the smaller crowds in September, and kids back in school, do you think it is ever necessary to make PS more than 1 day in advance? Or even just make PS arrangments the morning you plan to be eating somewhere for dinner... I have no idea where I will feel like eating 90 days in advance! :D

:earsboy:

It really depends on how flexible you are. Some people are reporting that they have not been able to get the exact time slot they want a particular restaurant, but I haven't seen any reports of restaurants being completely booked. That being said, you may not be able to get into some of the more popular restaurants unless you dine at very strange hours...

I would make PS. I like the security of having them. You can always cancel when you get there, but you might not be able to get the time you want once you get there. :)

I'm going for 3 days in Ocober, and have not made any PSs. I may make one or two the week before I go (I want BOMA and my DD wants flying fish) other than that I'm playing it by ear.

I have one PS made for our September trip and that is for PSB. I will make a PS for Boma one evening, but other than that I will make any dining arrangements the day before or the day of. I have only ever had trouble getting the place and time I wanted to eat once and it was for Le Cellier in May. We could eat early or late, but with DD3 we needed to eat no later than a certain time. If you are flexible with your time, then it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I made PS for a mid-September trip recently (just 2 of us). I was able to get the times I wanted for places like Jiko and Artist Point, had to go a little earlier than I planned for California Grill (nothing available around the fireworks), and had a bit of trouble getting a PS for 6 people at Kona (although it worked out in the end).

I'd suggest getting them for any big restaurants, but be flexible on your times. And feel free to change them when you get there, or throw the PS to the wind and check at the desk! :)

I would make a PS for any place that you just have to eat at. If your flexible, I think you'll be just fine.

Sometimes during Value season they won't completely staff the restaurant. So there will be plenty of tables, but they won't be seating because they don't have staff. We found this was the case last October when we tried Biergarten with no PS - and a 20 minute wait at 2:30 in the afternoon. The restuarant was nearly empty, but there were a lot of people waiting for tables.

I made a PS for CRT and PSB for my November trip but will play it by ear on Chef Mickey's and any others. I want to wait until the park hours for November are posted so I can plan around them.
