Hi everyone--

Can anyone tell me the best way to get to the Contemporary for a PS at Chef Mickey if we are staying offsite? We will not be going to any of the parks that day. In looking at the map, it looks like we go through the main entrance to the MK--do we have to pay the parking fee? I note that there is another route along Vista Blvd...am I correct in assuming that the security guards have a PS list and that we won't be required to pay a parking fee as long as we are on that list? Sorry for such a silly question, but I've never driven to the Contemporary...only cruised through on the monorail! Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think it's a silly question...we are in the same boat as you (have PS at Chef Mickey's for 10/30 at 7pm)!! I hope someone has the answer!!! :D

you can park at the Contemporary instead of TTC (the parking for MK). There isn't a charge for self parking, and yes there is a security gate at the entrance fo the parking lot. I don't think they have a list of PS's but you will need to let them know that you are there for one. They will give you a 3 hr parking pass.

Last time i was there the guard at the cont. did have a list of people who had PS for chef mickey's. Dont forget to tell them @ the parkong booth you have a ressie @ cont. and stay all the way to the right

yes make sure you stay ALL THE WAY to the RIGHT when getting to the MK parking booths. I was over just a couple of spots and could not get over in time and had to circle up to the parking and through and back around, and then thought I would be able to get back to the road to CR from the road that loops back before you get to the Parking toll booths on the exit road, so I had to make a second lap and then go past the parking plaza and Uturn and make sure I got all the way over.

Glad we weren't commandoing, or I would have been upset :) we were just driving over to check the WL out as we had bought into DVC at VWL so we wanted to check them out.

Thanks for the info---boy, am I glad DH is driving and not me! He's pretty good at getting from Point A to Point B with minimal stress...even with me navigating. ;)

You may get caught in Disney's "Carousel of Policy" in that you may encounter a main gate CM who insists that you must pay the $7 parking fee.

If this happens, dont argue. Just pay it and give your parking receipt to your server at Chef Mickey's. They will refund your parking fee for you.
