For eating at buffets etc? Do other Mums and Dads take childrens ID or do CM just take your word for it? My 2YO is quite tall but I don't know if I would feel happy having his passport with us all day at the parks!

We got charged once at a buffet when my older DD was 2 (can't remember if it was Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's). She had just turned two a couple of months before, so it wasn't even close, but she was/is tall. I carried a copy of her birth certificate with us (not an official copy - just one copied on the printer at home). I told the server she was still two and offered the birth certificate, but he just took the charge off without asking to see it.

We also got asked her age at one of the turnstiles, but I said she was two and again offered the copy of the BC. The CM didn't ask to see it - he just waved her through since she didn't need a ticket.

When we went a few weeks before our older DD turned 10, I brought a copy again since she looked about fourteen and was almost as tall as I am.

You could make a copy of the passport front page if it makes you feel better. I expect the CMs will take your word for it, though.

They take your word for it. Most of them.
In 2010, we went right before our DD turned 3. At 1900 PF, the server asked if we were on the dining plan and we said yes and she said "so that is 2 adults and 1 child". We politely told her no, our DD was still 2. She questioned us and I reconfirmed that she was 2.
Then when it came time for the bill, she charged us for our DD. I asked why and she said because she was 3. I told her she needed to fix it. Long story short we eventually had to get a manager! But we were never asked to prove it.
And if you are wondering, our DD was not a large kid. She weighed 30lbs at her 3 yr check up. So I am not sure why she was so insistent.

If you are the least bit concerned, then just photocopy the front page of her passport, or her birth certificate. You may never need it, but if you do then you're golden.:thumbsup2

Thank you all - that's great advice :goodvibes I'll do a few photocopies and be able to relax! Thank you all :)
