We spent yesterday at Akron University at one of the Ohio Regional Science Olympiad competitions. DD Sarah was one of 16 participants from our school and was signed up for 3 events. She got a 5th place ribbon for "fossils" and 1st place gold medals for "Science of Crime Busters" and "Experimental Design". :bounce:

The three students from our school that competed in "Mission (Im)possible" managed to receive a perfect score and also got 1st place. Out of 24 events, there were only 2 in which our teams did not place in the top 6. And out of all the middle school teams in the competition, Nordonia Middle School got FIRST PLACE!!!

This means that our team will be going on to the state competition which will be held on April 12th at Ohio State University.

Congrats Sarah (and the rest of the Nordonia Middle School Science Olympiad Team)!!!

Congratulations to Sarah and her group from school! That is excellent!!!!! Definitely something to be proud of!!! And wishing them the best of luck next month as they comptete at OSU. I'll be rooting for them all the way from Chicago (as that is where I will be that weekend). Do let us know how they do there!

I would be so proud, John!

Congratulations Sarah and your group from school! That is excellent! :Pinkbounc

Congrats!!!
My DS competed in Science Olympiad yesterday too! His middle school team of 15 took 1st place overall. MI's state competition is on 4-26 in Lansing.........maybe we'll all do well enough to have a mini-Dis meet at Nationals:D

That's fantastic news Laura. Good luck to your son's team at the state competition. This year's national competition is going to take place at Ohio State University. Perhaps we'll see you there. :)

During our church service this morning, I shared the good news about our Science Olympiad with the congregation. The Nordonia school board president as well as several school board members and teachers are members of our church, and I wanted to take the opportunity to publicly thank them. The congregation gave the students, teachers, and school administrators a well deserved round of applause.

Congratulations to your schools team! Its always great to hear about the success of kids. :)
