Just wanted to share...

Our state fair is here locally and we always go and in year's past we have spent a small fortune. Yesterday we went and bought discount coupons through a local grocery store promotion. Packed sandwiches and drinks for lunch (bought just a couple of our favorite snacks at the fair), used the free parking area and took a shuttle (which ended up being a double decker bus that my dh LOVED), and avoided splurge purchases.

We had a fantastic day - it was so fun and we hardly spent any money! Last year we spent over $100 the day we went.

Then we put $50 in our WDW fund that we had set aside for the fair instead!

:)

Isn't it amazing how much you can lay out at the State Fair or carnivals, even the zoo.

Dh told me he is not going to the state fair this year, it costs to much. He's like your're already going to WDW.

I love the state fair, I'll just go without him:D

I'll definitely be skipping the Texas State Fair this year too. I don't hardly ride anything - but $3-$4 a ride is INSANE. A couple years ago we rode one ride and played maybe 2 games - after food, parking, tickets, etc we spent $100. Poof, just like that.

Congrats on your saved $50!

:D Congratulations! I always tell dh we should skip the Fair. I'd much rather take that money and put it toward Disney ::yes:: .

We went to the 50th State Fair (Hawaii) on "dollar day". Entrance, rides, and hot dogs were all a dollar. Had a blast and I'm sure saved some $$ too!
