Proud Mom Moment

I just received a call from our school guidance counselor, and found out that my DS will be receiving the Presidential Education Award at the Fifth Grade awards assembly this Wednesday! I am so proud of him. He will get a certificate and a lapel pin from the White House! Yahoo.. he has worked very hard in school, and is a great student. Just had to share!

That is great. We had to pick 5 out of our school to receive this award. It is for someone who has excelled this year and has really tried very hard.

I am really proud of him. He must have worked very hard for the counselors to have picked him.

Along those lines...my DS received the National Physical Fitness Award...signed by President George Bush himself! Hmmm...a friend of mine asked if he has to put his patch on his PE uniform. DS didn't come home with a patch. Apparently, the school gave those to other kids in his class. Hmmmmmm.

Thanks, everyone. I forgot to mention that Otto has NO idea he will be getting this award. They said I could tell him if I really wanted to, but that he wouldn't be told in school until the awards are actually presented. I said I would much rather that he be surprised! His Dad and I are so proud of our boy. His hard work in school is being rewarded and recognized and I am so glad!

Jeanne, that is wonderful news, you must be so happy and ever so proud!!! Wow, won't your DS be surprised when his name is called. Tyler received a math award at his assembly and he was so surprised and delighted when they called on him.

The wonderful thing is when he knows he has the reward he will feel rewarded for all his hard work,many kids probably don't have this recocnized.
