Eldest just got his uni results back today(not the one who went to the prom)
He Got a 2-1, but his mark was 69.4% just short of a first by 0.6% of a mark.
Told him who proud for him to be our son with all his hard work he has put in(diagnosed with dyslexia at uni)
He is popping into uni to see if they can have another look at his dissertation,

Yeah i'd definately ask them to look again!

Well done anyway though :cheer2:

Great result but for such a small percentage they should remark it

Hi I am surprised that they did not call him in for an oral examin when he was so close. I know how hard they have to work if they are dislexic. I am and was also diagnosed at uni (way back in the days when they were just finding out about it until then all through school I was just a mystery). My eldest who's at uni was digagnosed when she was 14 but in truth we always knew that she had it. It must be so anoying for him just to have missed it given that he has probably had to put in that little bit extra because of the dislexia. But I wouldn'y say too much about it a 2:1 is still a great result so you don't want to take any of that away from him. A 2:1 will put him in good a good place for either employment or further studies.

Congrads to him

I got a 2:1 at university, and had a final mark of 69.1%. The uni holds a board meeting and considers attendence, previous marks and personal circumstances. They looked at all that and decided to leave it as it is. But a 2:1 is still a fantastic achievement, I'm proud of mine :)

Aww, thats a real shame.

I got my results too, only my second year though, I got a 2:1 though more than 1% off. (around 66% :guilty:)

Still, I got high marks in my exams, a fact I was particularly proud of since one of my tutors marked my in-course essays down and seemed surprised at other tutors high opinions of me  Sometimes one odd/unfair grade can drag down the whole thing...

Anyway, if it is his final year then they could be able to bump him up, happened to my cousin, he got moved up to a first after an oral exam, but it all depends on individual circumstances.

Fingers crossed, anyway!

He went to student liaison who deal with these things and they say that Manchester Uni is one of the few that dont round up-marks and they dont try to remark,
but he is looking into it so it might be hopeful
But were proud of him no matter what
