My hair is highlighted so somewhat damaged. After days spent swimming, snorkeling, and riding on excursion boats, etc, my hair is going to be a rat's nest. Does anyone suggest a certain product to take along to the beach, excursion bag, etc to help restore silkiness? TIA

I've read that coating your hair with conditioner before you head out for sun and surf is helpful. I've done that occasionally. And I've just loaded up with the conditioner as soon as I'm back onboard (prior to showering) and just doing a quick rinse out.

It's a 10 miracle line of products is really good. My hair is colored as well and we live in TX so in the summer I'm out in the hot sun and in chlorine almost daily. Since I started using it, my color has barely faded and it used to really fade in the summer. My kids are on a swim team and they both use the leave-in conditioner to prevent their hair from drying out. I can't say enough good things about this product line.

I used the It's a 10 leave-in conditioner on our cruise. Worked great for snorkling, windy boating, beach sand.

I use It's a 10 spray conditioner for DD's hair which is thick and can be a hot mess! It comes in several formulations. The nice thing is that while it's uber expensive, that can be mitigated by three things: trial size, trial size at Target (5% off if you use your red card) or trial size at Ulta (use points and/or $3 off coupon). So although it's usually around $15 I always pay less at one of those 2 places. Hope this helps!

I do have its a 10 too actually, for normal days. so i will definitely take that along to the beach. Thanks.

Is 'It's a 10' available at Target, local supermarkets, Ulta, or only certain salons? Thanks!

While SPF hair products can help, the best protection against sun damage when you are not IN the water is to combine it with a good wide-brimmed sun hat, preferably with a cord to hold it on in the wind. There are many stylish ones available and even those with built-in SPF, but most comfortable is a lightweight, light-colored one (to reflect instead of absorb the heat of the sun) that has ventilation. Your hair will thank you for protecting it on both land and in the sea! :beach:

Echoing those who say to coat your hair with conditioner before going in the water etc. I also find after coating it, braiding keeps it the least tangled.
