I have a friend who wants to propose to his girlfriend at DL. Is there someone he can contact at DL to make it more magical??? thanks in advance :thumbsup2

I know there have been some previous posts on this. I believe the answer is that they are not supposed to help, but there have been exceptions made if you know someone who works there.

I've heard some horror stories about cast members trying to help and the surprise was ruined. If I were to propose to my significant other, I wouldn't want someone to help me, unless I was asking for advice on where to propose or what are some romantic things to do to lead to the magical moment, etc. because I would be afraid someone would ruin the surprise.

You could propose at Napa Rose, BB, on the farris wheel thing at DCA, After the fireworks at DL. On days they have fireworks....

Lots of cool places to propose...

When I proposed to my wife, I kicked around the idea of proposing during dinner at Blue Bayou. I'd have probably tried to see if they would put the ring in one of those treasure chests you open to find chocolate coins inside. Anyway, I ended up doing something completely different that didn't involve Disney. I just thought I'd mention that idea, because Blue Bayou is one of the more romantic places at DL, in my opinion.

FWIW, if you take the right path on the way through the castle, there is Snow White's singing wishing well, and directly across from it is a fountain with Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. It's not a heavily travelled area, and if you hit it at the right time, should have some privacy to pop the question.

My BFF was proposed to at the wishing well suggested by Belle, she loved it!! I've seen a few other proposals there too. :)
I want to be proposed to on the Storybook Canals, under the rose arches at night, I think that would be magical. If you whisper to a photopass photographer what you're doing they will take you to the wishing well to make it look like they are just getting photos, then the proposal can be done and photos can be taken to commemorate it. :)

Here's a cool story a CM told me about a proposal at DLR...
This guy proposed while riding Splash Mountain. it was his girlfriends favorite ride, and when they take your picture, he was holding up the ring! & the part where your log kinda stops & your photo is projected on a screen so you can see it before getting off the ride, the girl saw it, turned around & said yes!

Sorry that's not much of help but I thought it was a cute story. :goodvibes

I second that idea!

That would be the like I want to get proposed too!! But at Disneyland there is a ton of romantic and creative ways and places to propose your significant other!

Here is some suggestions:

-While watching fireworks
-on the bridge of the castle
-right before fantasmic
-at the hub while taking photo pass photo
-over dinner or lunch at blue bayou
-near the stairs in NOS

i’m totally crying .that is a nice story..

I thought of another idea.

Make a thread of something randomly Disney. But post in it for her to see, and write your proposal in the thread!! :yay: :woohoo:

I would use a fake ring for the pic on spalsh and then propose with the real thing...

Just so you dont loose the ring...

Or go to a sign shop and get a small coroplast sign made that says "Marry Me" and hold it above your head as you are going down the hill...

I don't think they have the treasure chests anymore, sadly. :(

I LOVE the splash proposal. How creative!

Yes!! Call the Disney Fairytale wedding line and ask for Traci Banister specifically. She was our Disney fairytale wedding planner. She really knows her stuff. My Disney Husband asked me to marry him right inder the little stopped clock at the entrance to the main street at the castle, right on the gold spike! I swear I almost passed out!! I think that is the most romantic place to be proposed to.And in the background you can hear Jiminy Cricket sing "when you wish upon a star"-that was our first song that we danced to at the wedding reception. Awwwwe!! Tell your friend good luck!!!how Magical!!

Corpsebride...you just made me want to get married all over again, to the same DH, of course! That sounds wonderful!

My teen boys stumbled across a proposal last summer in the little stair area hidden away in NOS. The couple asked them to take a picture of them just engaged. :)

DH surprised me by booking the Disneyland Hotel and he proposed right after we walked in (the hotel staff had sprinkled roses everywhere). It was private but magical.

I also think it would be amazing to order one of those commemerative bricks between the park entrances with your names and "stumble upon it" and propose. You could even put your future married names "John & Jane Smith" (if your confident that she'd change her name). This would take some serious advance planning though since I think it takes quite a while for the bricks to be installed.

I also have always thought the main area of the animation workshop at California Adventure would be a great place to propose. You could say that you want to take a break and relax for a bit and sit and watch the movie clips for awhile. Then wait for a romantic movie clip (Aladdin's A Whole New World or whatever her favorite movie is) and get down on one knee.

The way time flies I can't remember if this happened on this site or another. But, a young man asked for help from people on the board. He wanted to propose to his intended on the bridge in front of the castle. He asked for help in several areas and people came through for him. He had a sign made that asked her by name to marry him. And he wanted the entire event video taped. A woman and her daughter met him earlier in the day. He told them what time he would be back and gave them his video camera. Then another couple met him so he could give them the sign and his instructions. He had them staged by the wishing well, and when he stopped on the bridge they were suppose to hold up the sign, meanwhile the woman and her daughter got everything on tape. When she saw the sign he dropped to one knee. The woman and her daughter were right there to get all the audio as well. If I remember right someone else showed up and gave them the bride and groom ears after she said yes. At the time we were all reading this on the board and could witness all the planning. So, when the video was posted everyone had to watch it. It was like our own Family. Funball, if this thread made you cry watching that proposal happen would have definitely got to you. :tink:
