No, not at all.
What you may have mixed up is, if you request room ready early as a priority it will override all other requests but that is at your request. As in, it's a box you check to say you request room ready early to be your higher request. So as such, they are honoring your request. Your #1 request actually.
However, if you do not check that, if you don't care when you get your room but prefer your other location requests to be met if possible, then you leave that box unchecked and they will still meet your location requests if possible.
Online check in doesn't mean they won't honor requests period. Funny how mixed up info spreads.

Just to clarify …
In MDE under "Your Resort Arrival" they ask the question on your estimated arrival time. If I was to check the time slot 11:30am would that become my #1 request, or is there another box to check at some other point in the process?

I don't want to mistakenly override our requests to have three room near each in the main tower at the Contemporary in December!
This is our fist time back to DW in 20+years we are taking our kids and grandchildren.

There's an additional box to check to have a room ready early as a choice vs. just giving an arrival time
I don't have an upcoming stay to get a screen shot of or I'd get one. Maybe someone else does?

You're gonna want to avoid checking the box at the top of this page. Putting an arrival time won't override your requests, but checking this box will.

I like online check-in. Our flights typically get in early, so we go do the lobby thing on arrival to store our bags with bell services until our room is ready. Nice not to have to go wait to check in at the front desk as well.

I do miss though when online check in gave you a space to make requests.

My best check in experience with Disney though was pre-online check in. We got off the MDE at the Yacht Club, and as we got off the bus we were greeted by a cast member who already knew we were arriving. It was so personal and made us feel so special. It's that kind of interaction I miss the most.

I never ever do online check in. I like to speak directly with the CM behind the reception desk. I'll always let them know what I requested and ask if my request was made. I like to know exactly where they're putting me. I don't like surprises when it comes to my room.

Oof. Maybe you will have to call. Not sure if central reservations can help plus it’s usually a long hold time. How far out is your reservation? Hopefully someone else with more knowledge of dealing with app glitches can help.

Doing online check in doesn't stop you from doing all of the above.
There's no rule that says you are not allowed at the front desk just because you do online check in
It just means you don't HAVE to go if you come in and there is a line of 10 guests and 1 CM working and you've been up since 3 am traveling

Are you the lead guest? Never mind, checked one of mine and turns out, non-lead guest can still do online check in. Who knew? I thought that would have been limited to lead guest
Is it a Disney resort property? Not SwanDolphin, other partner?

You won’t have an online check in option through Disney for Dolphin. Not for any stay I’ve even done. Just did one last week. They have their own
