As a newly engaged person, it doesn't have to be anything expensive as long as it is heartfelt.
I can guarantee you that if she's a Disney fan, she'll be thrilled with any proposal in Magic Kingdom!
He carried the ring around with him that whole day...He wasn't sure where or when but knew it was going to be that trip and I think that day.
As someone who was recently proposed to at a Disney park I can 100% say that you do not need to spend anything extra to make it special. We recently took our first trip to Paris, which (of course) included several days at
Disneyland Paris. I had no idea at all that he had bought a ring before we left. He carried it with him on his person and planned to propose the first day at the parks, but had no specific plan in mind. He figured he would know when it was right. He did and it was perfect and very him.
Early in the day we were at Disney Studios and in a shop near Ratatouille (Chez Marianne) we saw a few souvenirs we wanted to buy, including a small Faberge style egg that was painted with Disney characters and opened up to have a small sparkly Eiffel Tower inside, but decided to return at the end of the day so as not to carry them with us all day. The Studios park closed at 7, so we made our purchases and then went over to the Disneyland park for the rest of the evening. We had a muffin and hot chocolate, wandered around main street taking pictures and then got some popcorn in a souvenir bucket with a neck strap (we argued about this, because I said how are we going to take this bucket home in our suitcase, but ended up getting it).
We left the hub and were walking toward Adventureland munching on our popcorn with frozen fingers (gloves off, freezing). We browsed through a small shop called La Girafe Curieuse and then wandered behind the store to a small area with a foot bridge, a waterfall and hanging lanterns. There was no one else back here (we discovered later it is a character meet and greet during the day). He suggested that we sit down for a few minutes and just enjoy the space and our popcorn. I readily agreed and was just looking all around taking it in (first time at Disneyland Paris). He is beside me digging in the bag with our purchases and telling me that he wanted to make sure the store clerk had wrapped the egg well so it wouldn't break. I am paying him no attention at all. He then tells me that the egg is already broken. I assume he is joking and say no it isn't and don't even look at him. He then insists it is, and now I am concerned and turn to him. He says the Eiffel tower inside has broken off and hands me the egg closed. I open the egg and this is the view that awaited me.
He told me later that he had originally thought that maybe he should wait and do it at the Eiffel Tower, but knew that with my love of Disney that I would prefer to get engaged there. When he saw the egg he knew it would be perfect as a "ring box" and was just waiting till he found a lovely place away from crowds (he knows me and I would NOT have wanted a spectacle with lots of people seeing).
