Proposing MK on Dec 15th

Hello Everyone!

This is sort of a re-post of a post i did a week ago asking for advice.. but since it's almost all hammered out now i figured i would move my further conversations to a more appropriate board.

I am taking my DGF to disney for a proposal in two weeks.

We will be arriving on dec 15th early and spend the day at Downtown and then go to MK for the evening magic hours and fire works.

MY proposal idea is this.....

When we get to MK, loose her in a store and head out to the bathroom or just get lost.

I am going to find a photopass photog and convince them to help me out with the following idea...

she LOVES to pin trade, and I already purchased her a mickey proposing to minnie pin off of ebay... I want to convince the photog to wear the pin backwards, ala "secret" and since she LOVES to trade for secret pins to try to find cast member pins it shouldn't be to hard to convince her to trade with them after we get our photo taken...

she will immediately notice that it is a proposal themed pin and while that is sinking in.. i will be sinking to my knee and getting the ring ready for her...

after an exchange of sweet words.... she will hopefully say yes... (well actually.. I wouldnt have booked a week at disney and dropped some serious cash on a diamond ring if i wasnt sure she would say yes).

WE will then live out the best week of our lives together in the most magical place on earth.. complete with "just engaged" pins from guest services (if i can get them)

Ohh and since she LOVES christmas just alittle more then she loves disney... taking her to the Very merry christmas party will be a special surprise for her..

the back up plan involves alittle game of pick a hand in which she "picks" the hand with the pin, and then is confused resulting in the part where i propose..



Any one have any thoughts on my idea????

THe only way i can think that it may be better is if i waited till the christmas party on the second night we are there to propose.. but im not sure i can carry a diamond ring around for two days (we will not be back to the hotel until late the first night)......



I will be sure to post whatever pictures i can get.. and ofcourse pictures of my NEW DF and Me.

That plan sounds WONDERFUL! It really shows that you put thought into it and it's not just another "Magic Kingdom proposal" under the fireworks. The people who work for Disney are amazing when it comes to working with people on proposals and I'm sure you'll have no problem finding someone to help. I also think tickets to VMC is a great idea and I'm sure she'll love it. Can't wait to see pics! GL!

That is such a great proposal idea! I definitely think that getting a CM involved will make it all the better. But FYI, they do not have "Just Engaged" buttons at WDW. I got engaged there in June and was SO disappointed when I was told they didn't have them!

Im sad to hear about the just engaged pin.. i had heard about them, but maybe its CM by CM.

I really hope to get the photog to help out and take a few shots spontaniously as well as maybe a shot or two posed... this would be great as a photo in the wedding montage, or as an engagement announcement when we get home... its the part that i am most anxious about (well after getting the ring through security at the airport without her noticing it or them ruining the surprise like I have heard TSA can do).

Since our families are back up in new york, a few pictures would be super to have of the actual proposal. especially if we can email them or give them the photo pass infomation so they can see our trip while we are gone.

You could add an additional surprise to the room for when you arrive at check in. She probably will already be joyously overwhelmed and not expecting anything else. Something from the Disney florist or nice wine and sweets to share could be a good way to celebrate together that evening.

OK everyone WISH ME LUCK!!! I just cant seem to sleep tonight... LOL

Its 120 am and we are getting up to leave for our trip (AND SURPRISE PROPOSAL) in only 4 hours!!!

So i guess this may be a good place to start my trip report then:

Its D-Day and i cant sleep. The couple of concerns that i have are that the airport will screw up the surprise some how, that I packed TOO much.. that I didnt pack ENOUGH or that something will go wrong..

Im alittle nervouse knowing that my PLAN A is counting on a cast member to help me out.. but I think they will be more then helpful. Also I am excited taht they have the "just engaged" buttons listed up on the web site.. so I really hope to score a couple of them.

First time staying on resort property..... so that should be really nice..


Thanks to everyone for all your help and suggestions!! If anyone is in the MK tonight around 530-600 I will be in the front of the castle where hte photo people are trying to convince them to help me out!! Anyone with camera that wants to come and take pictures is more then welcome to come.. The more pictures the better!!!
