I am going to propose to my girlfriend at Magic Kingdon, her favorite park, in three weeks. I thought I would do it in front of the castle. Then we have reservations at the CA Grill to see the fireworks over MK. :groom: Any other suggestions? Does Disney still have the special events promotion that I have read about online? I have not found any recent info. on this though? Thanks a lot! :earsboy:

unfortunately disney discontinued their engagement packages but there are still tons of ways/ideas you can do on your own including proposing infront of the mk castle during the fireworks or on mainstreet with a disney photopass photographer with the castle in the backround as you kneel down, during dinner at california grill, i've seen others propose during dessert at dinner with the message written in chocolate on the dessert plate. you could also look into a specialty fireworks cruise from the grand floridian or maybe propose during the backstage magic tour of mk, 407-wdw-play. no matter how you choose to pop the question it will be memorable & special, congratulations & best of luck.

Check out www.giftsofalifetime.com as soon as possible - they helped my son do a castle proposal near the castle - but time is short. You'll need to fill out a questionnaire and talk to Jane ASAP!!!! Good luck!

If you are thinking of using them you need to call right away as if you email them it may take a while but they can help you come up with whatever you could think of.

I made my first proposal right on the drawbridge of Sleeping Beauty's castle at Disneyland back in '01. While the layout and castle approach is somewhat different, here are a few recommendations for castle proposals:

1) Beware of high traffic times and shows!
2) If at all possible, have someone (or a few people) that you know hide out there, just out of view, and when you drop to your knee, be sure they are armed and ready with cameras. The pictures and expressions caught in those moments are worth a billion!
3) Reguardless of where you do it in the park, think ahead of time as to why you will need to pass by (pick your spot) at the exact time that you do. And make sure that your approach path will work, no matter where you are coming from prior.
4) Be focused on something else on your way there or else she will wonder why you are as nervous as a kid standing outside the principals office listening to the sounds of your cohort getting busted while you are next to go in! ;)
5) Remember the moment and enjoy it when it happens because it will be over in a flash and might be lost like a fog in your memory from the unexpected nerves and adrenaline rush that suddenly hit you from out of nowhere.

Here is another idea - It you have no photography (hidden or otherwise) going on at that moment, then think about finding a way to give a heads up to one of the roaming cast photographers that take the mian street shots with the castle way in the background to what you are about to do. Take her into the candy shop and get her looking at the fudge (women lose focus temporarily when faced with fudge) and slip out there and prep the photographer. Tell them to take LOTS of shots! Then, when you walk her out and start toward the castle, when the photographer says "how about a picture", you can say "sure", get her to pose with you, and then suddenly drop down on your knee and just go for it. (S)He'll be snaping away with the camera while you take her breath away with your question (don't forget to breathe yourself!). How's that for an idea?

Good Luck!

Good luck!!!! I leave for WDW on Monday and am sooooooooo hoping he pops the question while we are there. We girls dream of that stuff! I have read about many proposals that were beautiful and done with help (costs about $275.00 to start and goes up from there). Mostly, just know she loves you and it will mean the world to her that you planned and thought about what she would like.

Thank you all for your help! We have 2 friends going with us, but they don't that I am going to do it either. I figured I would give them the video camera, since its my video camera, and ask them to take a video of us in front of the castle. I will also try to flag down one of the camera people. I am doing this on our 4th day there so I will have plenty of time to figure it all out. Thanks again! :earsboy:

my fiance just recently proposed to me infront of Cinderella's Castle during the photos. it was so sweet and romantic i loved it, and it was at night too so it made it a little more "magical" but be careful with photopass. i have a whole thread on the "theme parks" board about my issues with them. after he proposed they snapped like 8 photos of us just kissing and hugging and showing off the ring. we only bought one package so we could go home later and buy more and see what friends and family memebers wanted to buy.......well they lost the photos. but, i made a huge fuss about it calling and e-mailing all these people and apparently a lot of people are missing photos from the same time/place as i was. luckily they're looking into it. so if you do propose, ask someone else to have a camera ready and tell her it's "just incase" the other photos don't come out or get lost, like mine did. i'm sure even a Cast Member will do it. just go up to them and have her standing a few feet away and explain what's going to happen and see if they can find someone to take photos for you on your camera as well. good luck! sounds like she'll love it!

Problemchild718--Fill us in and let us know if you're sporting a new ring when you get back!

To the OP...I agree with everyone else, get it on film! And since you'll be there for several days prior to proposing that will help you pick the perfect time and place.

Good luck and PLEASE keep us posted after you get back...maybe even scan a picture for us....
