My son will be traveling to WDW with his girlfriend from 12/30-1/2. He plans to propose while there. He is not a huge Disney fan, but she is. (I wish I had been when I proposed back in the day). Anyway, he isnt very familiar with the parks, and is looking for a cool idea for the proposal and the best moderate resort for this. Any help???

Well, I've always dreamed of being asked right in front of the castle! I think that's a perfect place. Or in the rose garden that's near the castle. OR there is this little nook if you walk alone the right side where the Princesses have a story time. It's a Very sweet little spot. Much more private. As for which resort to stay at: My favorite budget is the Pop Century or All Star Movies. I've only been to the Carribbean Beach (moderate) but it was VERY NICE.

All of the moderates are nice. I loved Coronado Springs; it's very peaceful. We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside for our honeymoon. It will be my first time there, but I stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and liked that a lot, too.

My fiance proposed at the beginning of the fireworks infront of Cinderella's castle, and being a huge Disney fan, I loved it!

my husband proposed to me in front of the castle. It was so beautiful and perfect.

I forgot to mention, I really liked the Port Orleans Riverside moderate resort, we stayed there a few days before our Wedding in May and we both really liked it and it was very quiet and romantic.

Mu DH proposed to me at the wishing well in Disneyland. They have a wishing well at the castle in WDW. He wanted to make sure it was done someplace that we could go back and visit and relive the memory.

We were also witnesses to one proposal on the carousel at MK. Two couples sat in one of the seats - and then a little bit into the ride one couple got up with video/digital cameras, and then the other guy got down on one knee and proposed to a very surprised girl!

Congrats to your son and good luck!

My Fiance and I went on a carriage ride at Port Orleans Riverside and I thought it was absolutely beautiful. I thought it would be a really romantic way to propose. The carriage takes you along the water, it is such beautiful scenary. They also have carriage rides at Fort Wilderness but I've never been on that one so I don't know what the scenary is like.

i've seen many proposals in disney, and i think they were all very romantic. the most recent i've seen was in front of the haunted mansion, which might not sound romantic to everyone, but i think my point is it depends on the person. he doesn't really need to know anything about the parks, but he should use his knowledge on his girlfriend. tell him to think about what she likes like her favorite ride, show, fireworks..i think you get the idea. i hope that someday i will be proposed to in disney  . but if you want a specific suggestion...at night if you go the the polynesian resort, you can go downstairs and out the back door towards the beach. if you go at the right time you can see the fireworks from the magic kingdom, and i think that would be my #1 pick.

Disney can actually arrange a proposal if he is interested...for a fee of course.

If he wants something planned and extra special, there is a website called Gifts of a Lifetime (www.giftsofalifetime.com) and they will arrange everything. He can tell them a little about his girlfriend and they will go from there. They have done everything from simple, Castle proposals to elaborate scavenger hunts.

GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU SON AND HIS GF!

My husband proposed during dessert at the California Grill at the Contemporary Resort during the fireworks! It was so magical and that special moment happening in WDW made it that much better!
PS. We stayed at Coronado Springs that year and found it tom be very romantic!

My son proposed at pleasure Island at midnight to bring in the new year. She said yes. The Dawgs won. What a great weekend!

Congratulations to your son and new daughter in law to be!!!!!!! What a memorable moment for the two of them!
