I've been perusing these forums for the past couple of months getting all I need to know about FW. The information I have gathered here really made me feel good about my choice to camp. But there is some information that I cannot find. My girlfriend and I will be camping April 4-10. This is our first Disney trip together and I really want to make it magical. We are planning on being at rope drop at MK on April 6. What she doesn't know is that I am planning on proposing moments after entering the park but I can't decide where. My two primary choices are in front of the castle and by the wishing well. My concern is, will there be Disney photographers at either location at rope drop. Also, are there ever any photographers by the wishing well? The other question I had was if anyone will be staying at FW and going to MK that day. If you are and willing to be at rope drop, can I ask that you take 5-10 minutes to film the proposal? While pictures are nice, video is better.

Congratulations!!! How exciting! The wishing well is a great spot, but I don't recall ever seeing one of the photographers there. There is a spot on the bridge from main street to tomorrow land by the rose garden that always has a photographer there, that might be another spot to consider, the castle is in the background. There are always photographers going down main street...but, keep on mind it is all under construction right now...there are a lot of walls up in front of the castle surrounding the hub. The closer you get to the castle the better though:)

To the right of the castle heading toward the Brave M&G. The same one that leads to the Teacups. On the left on this walkway is a location that a photographer is always at and the castle is in the background. The construction would be the other way so you won't have it in your picture.

Whoot! Whoot! Oh Congrats...I'm so excited for her :) What a magical proposal indeed!

MK is crazy at rope drop, I mean CRAZY. Watch out people cause Mine Train is done and A&E are there and people are CRAZY at rope drop and getting through Main Street.

Have you considered just inside MK and up the stairs over looking Main Street and MK? That would be nice too. Although, I don't know how many people filter up those stairs at opening. Guest Relations might be able to work some magic and schedule a photographer to be waiting for you. This might happen, if you speak to the right person. Another option would be at FW. The Fort has some magical places all around and you would have your privacy. Might even find someone on the board that would be there at the same time and film it for you. Another option would be to do a google search and hire a photographer around the Disney area that would be at your designated location to take photos and film it for you.

Keep us posted!!

Congratulations! Very exciting! I wish I was going to be there, I'd volunteer to film it for sure!

Keep us posted!

Thanks for all the insight. Does anyone know if the construction will be done by April?

I proposed during wishes in front of the castle right after Tinkerbell flew over.

With just about a month to go, I'm starting to get nervous and excited! I'm still hoping that someone will be camping at the fort at the same time and would be willing to film the proposal. If anyone is willing, please let me know. Thanks

We will be at WDW over Easter, but we aren't staying at FW. If you don't mind me asking, what do you have planned?

I haven't made my final decision yet on where I'm going to do it at other than I know it will be at MK. We get to FW on April 4 but we aren't going to MK until April 6. I was hoping to sneak away and meet the person on the 4th or 5th. I've had the ring since the week before Valentine's Day and it's killing me to hold onto it this long without saying a word, so I want to do it as early as possible. Besides I really don't want to carry it around in my pocket all day for fear of losing it. I read that they just opened part of the space in front of the castle earlier this week. Does anyone know if the view from the front is still being blocked?

We arrive really late on the 1st and leave on the 8th. We have stayed at FW many times, but will be at ASMo this trip. If you have any questions about FW, please ask on here (or pm me) or check the Camping Board. Keep us posted on your plans and maybe some of us here on the Disboards can "magically appear" at your proposal.

Personally, if I were to be proposed to in MK, I would LOVE for it to be at the gazebo for the Tiana meet & greet. The sidewalk leading to it are roped off before she arrives (9:15 / 9:30ish), but I have a hard time believing anyone would be mad if you dropped that rope a couple minutes early :-)

I hope it goes great! We will be there then but are not going to the MK on this trip. If you are excited about it then your partner will be too!

COngrats!! I agree with the bridge going towards tommororwland - we had the photographer to ourselves for like, 10 minutes - was great.

Idea - carry all the bags and tell her when you get to the photographer - "I will leave there here - go on to the spot" show him/her suttly the ring and they will know to just starting snapping

Dude, there are so many different places on around WDW you can do this. You can go private space or public. I would go in the park, Maybe you can get into an augment professing your love to your honey. That you love her more, than he loves Belle.

California grill - Get dinner reservations around fireworks time (may be to late) contemporary hotel, restaurant stops during fireworks, you can go out on terrace to watch, explain how the honey makes your heart explode with love.... blah blah... and you want to make her your queen!!!!!

Also the new mine train ride has lots of jewels, but not will ever match the jewel you mined for her.

Do the honey have a favorite character? review the character story and see if there is any way to tie your love story into it.

Lastly, don't be afraid to ask for assistance from a Cast Member when the time comes. Maybe you can prearrange a photographer. Even it cost $50 or $100... You can always call ahead of time and speak with a CM/Guest Services.

If you have any questions or want to chat PM, let me know.

Awwww....would love to help, but we're leaving earlier that week.
I agree with not ruling out cast members or guest services for help.
Also, anyplace will be magical. It's your moment, but if it happens in a crowd everyone gets a Disney story!

Thanks for all the input. I really want it to be by the castle and I want it photographed, so it sounds like the best option would be to do it on the bridge going towards Tomorrowland with the castle behind us. As I mentioned before I am a little inpatient so I'm going to be doing it as early as possible on Monday April 6. We are planning to be there at rope drop. If anyone is interested in trying to record it, PM me and I can send you some more info. I plan on posting the pics after I get them.
