Hi -- we are making our first trek in 2 years in 19 days. We are staying at the All Star Music resort. One of the things I insist on -- even though my kids are now 9 (girl) and 13 (boy) -- that we do parks in the morning, and take a nap in the afternoon, and then they get to go in the pool. Back to the parks at night.

We are doing two water parks during our week trip -- BB & TL... but my question is...

What other pools could we segue to if we get tired of the one at the ASMusic resort that my kids would love, AND, that would be worth the trek -- easy to get to, as we do NOT have a rental car.

Thanks, all!

You'll be welcomed at the AS Sports and AS Movies pools as well--both are quick and easy walks from your resort.

Have fun!

Hi.. when you say "naps" do you really mean going to sleep?

I could never get my 9 year old to sleep in the day! I see you have a 13 year old too... do you just mean resting/swimming/relaxing... or do you all really sleep?

LOL Cassie

That's exactly what my now in-laws did when I went on my first trip to WDW at 18 with them! The youngest in our party was DH's sis who was 14yo!! I couldn't believe they actually slept and with only one park to visit back then, something they always do and they have gone every year since it opened. I was grateful they took me and it is something we both still enjoy together.

Now if they go with us they still nap and we hit the pool!!

As for the pools you will only be able to do the All Stars. We stayed at Sports and went into Movies pool no problem.. as for other resorts, that can't be done.

I can never get my 8 year old to sleep, let alone a 9/13 year old.

And also, we're neighbors.. I'm in the same town! You must be going the same time we are.. and we will be back in time for school to start and my job to start.. (I work in the Cherry hill School system!)

Yes, am I lucky or WHAT???

My 13 year old son and 9 year old daughter, as well as my DH LOVE to nap. They have been trained whenever we go to WDW that we go to the parks early, and then, to go in the pool, they have to nap.

Otherwise, they're all grumpy by dinner time.

Thanks for the tips in the All Star Pool areas.

My twin girls are 18 now. They still nap at Disney. We go to the parks in the a.m. and after a late lunch, head back to the resort around 4. They usually (I say they not me) nap for an hour or 2, thern we get around and head back out to a park. We are on vacation and want to come home refreshed and renewed. We definately don't do the commando thing..... :D :D

My 4 y/o rarely naps at WDW and never at home. When at WDW we usually take a break after going to the pool and then my DD may nap which is great since it refreshes her for the evening dinner out. I do not go commando park hopping either. We don't even get to the parks until around 10am or later or we hang at the pool for the entire morning. Now my oldest DD, 20, loved to nap when she was a teen. All teens like to sleep and being at WDW wasn't any different for her.

If I told my DD she had to have a nap (at Disney) she would laugh in my face and flat out defy me LOL!

If I tried to make her - she would call the Childrens Aid Society and report me for being mean at Disney World. :p

I have to point out though... we are back at the room by 9:00pm and she is in bed by 9:30pm... we have a full 8-10 hours sleep every night. I have never seen spectro or fireworks... the only night we were out later was when we saw hoop dee doo.

I suppose if I was keeping her out till midnight I might think about the nap thing.

We also only do half days at the parks... either first thing and back by 2/3pm or out at 12:00ish and back by 9:00pm. I am not a park commando.

OH we are nappers! lol Usually my dh takes the girls (now 10 & 15) down to the pool and me and the boys nap (they're 6 now) otherwise we all take naps, heck I take naps at home when I can! I never understand for the life of me why kids won't nap, who the heck wouldn't want to nap. How sweet life would be if we were at work and they rang a bell and screamed NAP TIME like at preschool! lol
