Proof that I am out of the VMK loop

So I went on vmk yesterday to actually play...something I haven't done in over 6-8 months...and noticed everyone participating in a quest. I figured the quest was for something really desirable since everyone was very adamant about winning it lol. I quickly checked the quests and saw one for a treasure magic pin. My first thought was "Oh! Treasure detector!" So I entered the quest. I started getting through the questions and tried very hard to win at pirates. It was hard for me to do as I was out of the swing of things. So I kept going back in and playing. I was one determined person!! haha.

Dinner was ready while I was in the middle of the quest and after getting as far as I did, I didn't want to have to go back and play pirates again as it was sort of a pain to get through in the first place lol. I kept running from the dinner table back to the computer trying to make sure I didn't time-out of the game.

Finally, I finished the quest! I was so happy. I immediately checked what I had in my pins and I blankly stared at them as I noticed I now had two buried in treasure pins. I was trying to figure out how that was possible and then it hit me -- I didn't play for treasure detector magic, I played for buried in treasure magic!! At first I was a little disappointed, but then I couldn't help but laugh at myself. I then realized how completely out of the loop I actually am haha. It actually makes me feel a heck of a lot better about resigning as a leader (which I was second guessing after I did so) - geez, I can't imagine having to answer questions about things I have no idea about it haha if I can't even read a pin correctly!!

So anyway, there is my short little story about my ignorance in vmk! haha. Hopefully it doesn't prove that not only am I out of the loop, but also a complete idiot... Lol.

Nothing idiotic about what you did. I would hope, if I left the game for 6-8 months, that they would have released something like Treasure Detector Magic in my absence. However, vmk has been trending toward re-releasing the same things year in and year out. There have been some new items released (Green Space Suit, for example), but most of the items released in your absence have been out before or known about for years (the current pirate outfits have been on the shelf since beta, at least). Even host pins aren't nearly as desireable as they were a year ago.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your time back and had a good break from the game! At least the Tomorrowland Quests have been reset!

Thanks! Yeah a lot of things I am seeing are things that have already been known about. I didn't know about the space suits or the dark ride pieces being released along with the accessories like the dividers and stuff. Heck, the New Orleans area is still new to me! lol. I have no idea (at all) about pins lol.

Hopefully the next time I am in vmk, I can adjust better lol. I was trading with a friend and got totally excited about the way trade is set up now!! Needless to say, he was pretty much rolling his eyes while I admired it lol Apparently that isn't anything new either haha.
