look up “Run Michigan Cheap” (if that’s not too far of a drive for you.) I think they may also do some Indiana/Ohio races. They’re bare-bones races, usually in parks or rail/trail systems that are chip timed with published results.

If you go here you can put in your city or county, select races in whatever radius you want, and filter by distance. The Midwest is full of race a quick drive or short flight away.

Sounds like the "broke man's run" I did in Ohio for a PoT several years ago.

If it doesn't have to be certified, it looks like I found a couple options in Kentucky on the "running in the USA" site. Thanks everyone!
