Our son will be almost 2 1/2 when we go to WDW this year. At 20 months or so, he was already 36" tall. Did anyone have any problems with them trying to charge your child as a 3 year old? Should I bring a copy of his birth certificate?

I've never had an issue, and I have giant kids. I've heard that CMs will sometimes ask the child or the siblings how old the "baby" is if he looks big, but they won't harass you.

My son is also tall and if asked his age will give whatever age he feels like at the time so I carried a copy of his birth certificate just in case. We never needed it though, no one ever asked.

My little sweetie was a very similar height last year at the same age (38'') and I worried about it too but no one ever said anything about it

DO was 37 inches on our last trip when she was 28 months. They never questioned us beyond "how old is she?" We said 2, they took us for out word.

I'm worried this trip. She will start the trip as a 2 year old but has a birthday during the trip. I've read that you don't age at disney, so I really hope that is true. I don't want to wind up with any fast pass and ticket requirement surprises.

DD was a big kid, and practically talked like an adult at 2. They never questioned us.

On our last trip, my DD was 2.5 and tall. We were travelling with friends whose daughter was 3.5 and slightly shorter than my DD. We were never questioned at the gate, character meals, etc. why we were paying for one and not the other.

We took DD when she turned 3 (on the second day of the trip). We weren't asked her age except for once when entering DHS. The CM made DD tap her band (we had been keeping her in the stroller just to make entry go faster) and said "Wow you're big for a 2 yr old!" I explained she turned 3 on Monday and the CM rolled her eyes (!!!) and we were on our way.

Funny thing is DD is tiny. She couldn't even ride Mine Train, so she certainly is not tall for her age (we went back last week and she STILL isn't tall enough for Mine Train).

We were asked DS's age this past fall. It was his second birthday. The CM made a snide comment about him being "big for 2". Also at AH the hostess changed my daughter's age to 3 and we had to have the server change it back. She was turning 3 the next day, is super tall and has a very full vocabulary so I understand why she didn't believe me.

My son was a week away from 3 during our trip. He's our biggest child. We had quite a few age questions and or FP questions and when I said he was still 2 I got a few questionable looks. However I was honest and no one questioned me!

I pity anyone who gives me lip about my 38 inch tall 2.5yr old. They'll get it back threefold.

Thirteen lbs and 23 inches at birth, so yeah, he's big and always has been. They can get over it.

Both my DS have hit 40" well before age 3 and we have never had an issue. A few times they asked their age, but never more than that.

I'm actually more worried about my 9 year old getting charged as an adult at meals since he is almost 5' now and looks to be about 12. I always joke that these are "off the chart problems" since neither of my kids have been on the charts since about 9 months old.....

No cast member should start questioning a child/sibling on their age. My 2.5 year old is very tall for her age. Not too long ago a security guard that has no business asking about ages asked my daughter "so what is your real age" with a big stupid smile. She said 2 where he said "are you sure". I told him to mind his own business before I call his supervisor. He turned and walked away where one of the CM's apologized and said he does that to a lot of kids who he thinks are lying about their age.

My extremely tall 2 year old will turn 3 on the last day of our trip in September. He's already only a hair below 40 inches. I just KNOW we will get snide remarks about trying to sneak a child in for free, so I plan on bringing a copy of his birth certificate and showing it if I get any hint of anyone suggesting we're trying to cheat the system. I paid for a ticket for my older child when we visited a week after he turned 3, so I definitely believe in doing the right thing and playing by the rules. It would infuriate me if anyone suggested otherwise (though I understand not everyone does play by the rules so unfortunately, I kind of get it).

I wonder if the CMs who do question more than necessary do so out of personal annoyance of people trying to get away with not paying. I doubt their bosses say "hey, crack down on all of these 3 year olds masquerading as 2 year olds!!" My DD was a few months shy of 3 when we went and we were never questioned more that asking her to scan her band. I would tell them she was only 2 and they never seemed like they thought I was lying. A lot of them would ask her to scan at the fp but only to make her feel included lol. She will be 3.5 when we go next and will have a ticket this time.

I kind of had the opposite problem, they kept trying to let my 3 year old in for free (when she was 3 she's 5 now). Even a few buffets were like she's free. We paid for the buffets and used her ticket, but it was funny. They were like no really if she's under 3 she's free

In my case it was security. Seems like the CM's don't really care as long as the line keeps moving through the turnstiles this security guys seemed to have a bug up his butt and was looking for a problem.

My son was an extremely tall 2 year old and I was never questioned for him. My daughter is an average tall 2 year old. (she's merely 90th percentile while he was off the charts) I was questioned a couple of times with her. She was 2 years and 8 months and sitting in a stroller so you couldn't even see how tall she was. I think I was questioned for her because she has an older looking face. It happened every time I attempted to put her "hair" in a ponytail nub.

The difference was my DD has a slim older looking face. My son has always had a rounder more baby face. When they are in a stroller or carried their height isn't really that obvious. One young guy did ask me twice, but took my word for it about my DD.

We are heading to WDW this Friday for a long weekend trip to celebrate our little bug's 3rd birthday. He will turn three on Sunday. When we booked through the website it didn't require purchase of tickets etc. and it is noted on our reservation that we are celebrating his birthday.

Am I going to get harassed over this? He is in the 98% and looks like a 6 year old lol. If they ask his age he is just as like to say 14 as to say nothing at all (he can be shy.) After reading this post I think I might make a photo copy of his birth certificate just in case.
