Proof of age for admission?

We're going to Disney next week and I have to get my tickets. Our DD is only two, but looks older. She's tall. Do I have to show proof of age for her so as not to have to buy her a ticket?

You will not have to show proof of age - if they ask you how old she is just say 2 and they will let you in.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what to expect and didn't want them thinking I was trying to pull a fast one. People always think she's older.

My grandaughter was 2 years 11 months when we went in August and the only one who even asked her age was Animal Kingdm and I told her she wil be 3 in September an no problem. No other CM ever asked.

So, is it officially the "honor system"? If you say your child is under three, that is good enough for them to give your child free admission....

Otherwise, what form of real proof could you bring? You could bring a birth certificate but you could easily bring a certified copy of your friend's child's birth certificate who is under 3 to use with your 4 year old. There is no picture so how would they know that the child you have with you doesn't match the birth certificate you brought. You don't have to bring your own child to WDW with you so the parents listed on the birth certificate don't have to be you either.

It just seems so easy to me to abuse the policy but I don't see any real way to enforce it.

It is the honor system. I wouldn't worry too much about it. We have never been asked to show proof of anything for the kids. Not even when we bought my sons AP this year since he is 3 now.

I also have a very mature looking 2 year old. She is already 38 inches (can you beleive it) and I was really worried and i asked a CM on the phone!. She said that they do not ask and I agree that it is tooo easy for people to abuse the system but how could you enforce it really? I do not want to pull a fast one on my vacation so next year when she is 3 she will have a ticket like everyone else but this year she is FREEEEEEEE ! Just my 2 cents

I think the vast majority of the people are honest and just do the right thing. We went during the week of my daughter's third birthday a few years ago. She didn't use a pass on any day up to her birthday, and no one ever batted an eye. In fact, she didn't use a pass on the day of her actual birthday - I mean, hey, it was her birthday, and besides we got there early, and she wasn't born until later in the afternoon! But the next day she she used her park hopper, and did for the rest of the trip.

If a child is under 3 at check-in, they are free the entire trip, even if they turn 3 the next day. Your age at the time you check-in is what counts.

My niece was 2 on our trip in May and she was 38+ inches and was never questioned.
