Proof for Early Entry

On Sunday, they were checking apps and were also able to scan key card. Even though I do online check in, I always get a key card because my phone takes too long to open the door.

I showed them my App, thinking it would be the easiest, but they started clicking through and I offered my key card and they said it was way easier to scan the key card.
I think I am going to get a key card. Thanks

I still don't know why they can't get MB+ to work at DL for hotels. In the state that has more technology then any other state you would think they could figure it out by now.
It’s not that they can’t. I don’t think they want to spend the money to make the changes. It’s not going to bring in much money.

I’m curious, even if you had a physical key, they no longer print the dates of stay on the keys right? So how does that work if you show your physical key? Do they scan it and somehow know your dates of stay?
They will seriously take a physical key as proof? Then how would they know if you just handed that key to someone else? AKA a non-Disney resort hotel guest.

So strange, I’ve done early entry multiple times over the past few years, I’ve never had anything scanned

today is the second time I’ve tried to do early entry… security doesn’t open till 7 and the line is insanely long at 6:40. Hotel guests don’t have a separate line to get to the gates… how do folk make this work exactly? Is everyone really getting here an hour and a half before it opens early to sit on the concrete and wait? There has to be a better way for them to get us in.

Which hotel are you staying at and which entrance did you try using? I have the same concerns as you, for our trip at the end of this month. I think it’s unacceptable there isn’t a separate security and turnstile for resort guests taking advantage of early entry. Surely the hotels exorbitant rates must offer us some benefit.

@crystal1313, yes they had physical card readers at the EE in DL when we went. You could either show them the app or scan a physical key.

On Sunday we entered through the Pixar Place entrance for DCA (early entry), and we never had to show a card or the reservation in the app. It was quite strange.

Staying at Pixar Place. This happened to us in Jan when we were staying at GCH as well but I blamed myself as we got in line at 7:10…. Today ended up working out fine but only because I hustled once I got through and a new gate happened to open up at just the right time.

When we stayed at the Courtyard Themepark Entrance in late January of this year the security line up on Harbor was so easy at 7:10am. I am disappointed that the lines on the other end of DTD aren’t so easy. We are staying at GCH later this month I am feeling anxious about the line ups at security in order to make it to the turnstiles shortly after 7am.

The benefit used to be a lot bigger than it is now. I really don't understand why they changed it, because staying onsite is such a premium cost-wise.

EE used to be a separate entrance (so a separate line) and it was an hour instead of 30 minutes. I really don't see that the benefit they're offering now is worth the $$. And I say that as someone who normally stays onsite for said benefit.

I am staying onsite the first week of December and am really concerned about EE. I hope the new dedicated security entrance for the Disneyland Hotel will be open by then and hopefully that may help with the security side of things. I do really wish though they would have a dedicated EE gate for onsite guests and let them in before 7:25 it would make EE so much less stressful. Seriously for the prices we are paying to stay on site you would think this would be a given. It is at Hong Kong Disney where they have a dedicated Hotel guest entry I don't understand why it can't be a thing at DL.
