These are the *brand new* high-heeled Crocs - really. ::rolleyes1 : She wants to wear them to the prom with her gown. (Kinda makes sense in a strange way - I want her to be comfortable...) But, before I spend $50 on these babies, does anyone have these yet and could comment upon the fit and comfort?

I have the other high heeled crocs, the sassari and they're very comfortable but do run a little wide.

I think it's great that she's going to wear the crocs. Comfort is important. I went to a formal affair last night and by 1 am we had to end our evening because my feet hurt so badly. I told Hubby Dude when we go next year I'm wearing crocs cyprus. No one even saw my shoes anyway, my dress was floor length.

I have a medium foot and they were too wide for me. They are soooo cute though.

I haven't seen these, but I've seen girls come to the prom in Rainbow flip-flops and even Converse high-tops. It looked rather silly, but I think that was the point.

They look pretty actually, and you never know when you might use them again. I have to say that I was surprised when I read that a high school senior wanted to wear Crocs to her prom, but I didn't realize that this is insanely sensible! The comfort level for such a special day in her life seems worth the $50 price tag.

A guy friend of mine wore hot pink crocs to his prom to match his date's dress. :) I say, if the Cyprus are comfy and look cute, go for it. If they don't fit right, you can always return them. Just have her wear them around the house for a few hours before the big day.

A funny prom shoe story: I bought a pair of really comfortable white heeled sandals for my junior prom 11 years ago, $10 at Payless. I wore them for that prom, my senior prom, every Easter between 1997 and 2003 and other dressy events, and my wedding. They looked kind of shabby after my wedding, and I thought I'd retire them...until my BFF got engaged and I needed white shoes for her wedding. I spray painted them with fresh white paint and they looked great again. I already had the paint, and the shoes looked too bad to wear, so it couldn't hurt! I am all about comfortable shoes!

Saturday I found a pair of the Chocolate/Cotton Candy Cyprus at Dillards. They had just gotten them in stock and that is the only color they had. They did have a bunch of sizes. They were also priced at $49.99.

Oh, just saw them, very cute! I wouldn't wear them because I tend to look awkward with any type of heel. (Can't walk in them to save my life!)
:cheer2:

Those are adorable, I only wish CROCS wasn't written across the strap.

It can come off easy enough, it's just bent around a strap.

I have 2 pair and LOVE them! I have wider feet. These are wider than Primas/Alice/Celeste, but more narrow/fitted than Beach/Cayman. The fit is identical to Sassari. They are like walking on marshmallows and are not too high to walk well in.

For those who own a pair are they really dressy enough to wear say with a nice dress on a cruise for dinner? Or are they more of a shoe for a casual day out?

Thanks, everyone! This kid never asks for anything, so we'll probably just order them and take her chances on the width issue. She got her "1st choice" prom dress free from a friend, (only have to pay for some minor alterations) and her "back-up" dress is new with tags from ebay for only $21 (sample from a salon). She is a true Budget Board baby!!!

She lives in her Chucks (hightop sneakers) or Crocs every day, but knows she wants to be comfortable dancing at the prom, and saw these online and was hooked. It is such a shame - so many girls buy expensive, fancy shoes for the prom and then end up dancing in bare or stockinged feet! For those who haven't seen this style, they're like espadrilles.

I say anytime you can put the words 'comfy' and 'high-heels' in the same sentence, no price is too high! Every year, my daughter went to prom/formals in some beautiful but horribly uncomfortable shoes and ended up miserable half way through the evening. She usually ended up barefoot on the dance floor  .
I would look for discounts or coupon codes of some kind but I would definitley try to get them for her if you think they'll make her happy.

I bought the brown and the black. The lady at the store said they were almost sold out already and they only had them in a day. They are very comfortable. If she wants them I would get on it because they will probably be very hard to find.

Yup - my rear is in gear...thanks! Even on the Crocs own site, many colors and sizes are sold out already. Virtually all other online sources are back-ordered until "the end of May" - eek! But...I just ordered her a pair in her 1st choice color: the silver/lavender! :cloud9: (Also, these are *really* high heels, the other new style...Sassari...are the espadrille ones. I was so confused... )

They can be worn with a nice dress or jeans or just about anything. I'm in my 40's so I would say no to chiffon, silk or lace (but a teenager could get away with a little more). For a cruise, I would wear them with a dress in the Chico's travel collection.

I bet they'll be $80-100 on eBay soon. I ordered black/black from Crocs.com when it still said "coming soon" on the main page. They had all sizes/colors and they arrived in 4 days, went back to order another pair and many were sold out (wanted bronze). Both styles of black were sold out then too.

They are an inch higher than Sassari, but they really don't feel that much different, she'll love them, have her wear them around the house for awhile first.

Thanks for all your help, everyone! DDs prom was Friday night princess: and she reported back that of the hundred+ girls there that she was the ONLY one to keep her shoes on all night!!! (She did take them off for the limbo contest for a "competitive advantage.")

She got them early and wore them around for the weeks before the prom - they did need some breaking in, as she got a small blister or two in the beginning - healed WELL before the prom, and now she has a cute (and comfy!) pair of sandals to wear all summer.

I was just wondering about her this morning as I put on a pair of silver ones - this is a great prom story!

They sound great to me. My oldest had her senior prom last night. She bought a pair of really cute silver high heeled strappy sandals...and I bet you anything she took them off the minute she was done with pictures, and may never wear them again. Glad she was comfy at her prom, and has a nice comfy pair of sandals for the rest of summer out of the deal.
