Prom Hair Help

My daughter's prom is Friday. We have looked at 652,544 hairstyles online. She can't decide what to do. Honestly, I'm shocked she's picked a dress, accessories, shoes, and a college. But I digress. She has hair all the way down to her rear end - it's in a clipped up pony tail in this shot. She wants it up for prom. We have an appointment for hair and make-up, but she doesn't know what to tell her stylist. So, I thought I'd ask the DIS. Here's the dress and jewelry:



What should she do with her hair?

The dress reminds me of something Carrie Underwood would wear and it's beautiful.

I think high and messy or curly. Too formal would take away the cute factor on that dress. She looks great in it!

DD's prom was last Saturday. She has long ombred hair. She went with a front braid (like a braid headband) and beach waves.

I feel your pain. My DD is less indecisive but a complete perfectionist. I was quite surprised that she had her hair done and then liked it and left it alone! She considered having her make up done professionally but even she realizes that she's too much of a perfectionist for that.

With that dress, which is very pretty, I think she should do her hair half up and half down. Lots of big spiral curls. Or something like Julia Robert's hair in Steel Magnolias for her wedding. (Her character was Shelby) Maybe not as big as hers was, but a similar style.

I like the second picture, the messy curls updo. I would probably lean half up half down if her hair wasn't as long, it just seems like it would be way too hot.

Here is my daughter and a couple of her friends at prom this year. She wore her hair half up and half down with messy curls. I personally love the messy bun like her two friends have, but a lot of girls wore it that way.
