Doris Jnr is going to be looking for her prom dress whilst on holiday :scared1:, so am looking to not break the bank too much. Has anyone got any ideas where a shop would be that sells them? Will be finding something else to do that day, Doris Snr and Jnr can go on their own!

most of the department stores sell them as well, check out florida mall or mall at millenia

Now is probably a great time to get a bargain dress as most of the US high schools proms have been and gone so the shops will be clearancing all the dresses they've stocked up on :thumbsup2 Department stores like Macys and Sears are good places to start :)

Have been looking on all the major department stores, want to go on holiday now!

My niece got her dress from Macys and there were literally hundreds of them. We went in April and there was a sale. The dress had 75% off and when we got to the till they took off more money and we ended up paying - drum roll ---a massive $25. She needed a bra and that was another $25, so the bra ended up costing as much as the dress. The dress was an apricot colour in heavy satin, she said that everybody was asking her where she got her dress and she just said Orlando as she couldn't admit to the price! My brother in law was willing to pay much, much more but he really didn't need to.

I would also urge you to get her shoes there as well as they were much cheaper and the range was huge. Emily needed silver sparkly shoes and there were lots of pairs and all affordable.

Have fun shopping:thumbsup2

When I was there a few weeks ago J.C Penneys at The Loop were selling off prom dresses for $30 and they had a great selection Also Dillard's in the florida mall had a great selection too and also on sale....

I got my prom dress there 8 years ago from Cache, but I think their range has become a lot more casual. They do still have some nice dresses though, and if there's a sale on you can get a bargain, I got a dress for a wedding from Cache in New York last year for about $70, it was worth way more. :)

There is a Cache in Florida Mall. :)

If you go in Macy's don't forget to ask at Guest Services for your 'International traveller card' it give an extra 11% off most items including sale items, the one thing with no discount is the fragrance/beauty department.

Thanks for all of the advice folks. Doris Jnr and I can't wait to go dress shopping now! Will just have to break the news to BiGGy that he might not have any spending money on holiday :rotfl2:

I remember seeing some fab prom dresses in Belz in 2001; I'm on the lookout for one myself when we go. We hold a prom every year for our pupils, and I've worn the same dress at the last two, so I need something else now!
