I don't know if you remember my prom gown vent from the other day, but DD and I went to another shop on Friday and had a much better experience. It was more low key and friendly which put us at ease, and most importantly, my daughter found a dress! She looks like a princess in it. Here is a picture, but hers is a grape color with several shades of tulle, making it slightly muti-colored, to match her personality, lol. Please post yours, or your daughter's, so we can see! :)

That is gorgeous! I'm 35 years old and still love looking at prom/formal dresses. I had a blast dressing up on our cruise!

This thread makes me think of the Duck Tape at the Prom contest.

People make their prom dresses out of duck tape.

DD's class didn't have a prom this year because the school is only in its second year and has no senior class. Next year they'll have a prom, and I'm sure I'll have to buy a dress!

That is a great dress however the freaky Bride of Frankenstein hair scared me :scared1:

Beautiful dress! I read your other thread and was reminded of having a similar experience at the first place my mother and I went shopping for wedding gowns. The woman acted like it was some sort of personal insult that we weren't buying RIGHT THEN when she knew it was our first stop as my mother cried seeing me in a dress for the first time (even though it was SO not "the dress.") and we talked about it being our first stop. Pushy sales ladies suck. ;)

Glad your dd had a better experience and found a dress she loves!

Everything is so different now, as each of the senior girls purchase their dress, they post them online (facebook) so others can see and not duplicate. They are so pretty this year. Anybody want to post their dress/daughter's dress?

The dress is so pretty! My prom is in a little less than 6 weeks, but I still don't have a dress. :scared1: We do have the whole limo thing figured out, though, at least for now. LOL. Our prom is a junior prom, which seems to be fairly unusual. There is so much drama, not only within my circle of friends, but within the whole entire junior class (the class vs. the class president  ) that is going along with it, though, that I am really not that excited anymore. The theme is Hollywood, which should be fun hopefully and we are talking about going to breakfast and a baseball game right after it.

Wow! I had a Mori lee gown for my prom way back in 1984! :) Mine was lavender. Love the dress, very pretty!

Wow, what a gorgeous dress. I'm sure your daughter will be quite the princess in it Saphire! :goodvibes

Beautiful dress. My wedding gown was Mori Lee as well. :)

My DH is a highschool teacher and we get to chaparone the prom each year. I really look forward to it every year!! I love to just look at the dresses when they come in. There are some BEAUTIFUL gowns!! Some however I think to myself....what were they thinking???:sad2:
For the most part though....they are wonderful to look at and comment...kind of like our own Red Carpet! :rotfl2:

Ohmigosh Gurgi. Where on earth do you find all these *ahem* interesting get-ups? (wouldn't want to hurt your feelings again, but that crocheted body bag was something else)

Well, sometimes Pic N Save has a good sale, and you wouldn't believe what you can find hidden behind the KMart dumpster. Such a waste!
