Tonight is the night. Project Runway returns.

This seems to be a very interesting cast.
I think Malan is going to be the designer we love to hate.

I can't wait, either! I love this show! Tim "Make It Work" Gunn has to be my favorite! I'm always saying that in the classroom and to DS -- "Make it work!" Hahahaha!

I loved last season when Santino went into the Tim Gunn imitation and got busted. That was hysterical!

ETA: From Malan's bio it states "Inspired by a friend, one of America's foremost couturiers," -- I wonder who that couturier is!? American, eh? Who is the biggest American couturier? Vera Wang? Ralph Lauren? Donna Karan? But are they considered designers or couturiers? I can only think of foreign couturiers like Chanel. There's def. a line between couturiers and designers so is Vera Wang a designer or a couturier?

I watch the show off and on, but I am wondering who is going to be asked to leave. In one of the commercials, Tim says "I'm going to have to ask you to leave (or something to that effect).

I love almost all reality and found Project Runway late in the 2nd season. Fortunately I have watched the first 2 seasons in reruns. I love this show and Top Chef. And how on earth did Jay win season 1 with his grunge wear?
I will be watching tonight!

I can't *wait* to see who gets the "I'm going to ask you to leave" from Tim ... and I can't wait to see what they did to deserve to be asked to leave! It has to be something major b/c they wouldn't just kick someone off for the heck of it!

I also love Top Chef ... found it v. good and fun to watch. It's far more refined and civilized than Hell's Kitchen. I can't stand watching Ramsay screaming at those chefs. Lucky for Ramsay that I'm not on that show b/c I'd be screaming right back at him, louder than him and I'd prob. be throwing knives at him as I was screaming!!! I know that things in a kitchen get insane and chefs have to have thick skin and whatnot ... but I do not consider it entertainment to watch Ramsay degrade and humiliate people.

ETA: I don't get the "Jay" thing either, 3Princesses! I didn't like the guy to begin with. He was waaay too arrogant and I wanted to slap him! So maybe that has a lot to do w/it?! I'd never wear any of his clothes! They're terrible!!!!

That's what I was thinking. It has to be BIG, as they didn't kick that one designer (Marla, maybe in Season 1, I think?) who copied a dress from a big designer. Nikki Hilton was the person they were designing for.

That's what I was thinking. It has to be BIG, as they didn't kick that one designer (Marla, maybe in Season 1, I think?) who copied a dress from a big designer. Nikki Hilton was the person they were designing for.

I suspect a designer may have sabotaged another designer's work. Just a guess, though.

I am really pumped about Season 3 (glad we didn't have to wait until Dec. again).

Ohh! I love this show! I've been hooked since Season One. I loved Top Chef too. Does anyone know if Top Chef is coming back?

I'm having a Project Runway viewing party tonight with some of my girlfriends.
I'm serving appetizers and Fashion Victim and New York City Model cocktails in honor of the show. I also found a recipe for a drink called "The Tim Gunn" that I might try tonight.

I missed the casting episode last night but hope to catch it tonight. The casting episode is usually one of my favorite episodes in reality TV. I stop watching American Idol after the audition episodes because the auditions are the best part!

Based on what I've seen on the website, I'm going to place an early bet on Malan to be the Wendy/Santino love/hate character this season. Any thoughts?

I loved the white dress with the red trim and silver...really loved that one, I'd wear it in a heartbeat! I also really liked the one made of coffee filters. I was surprised he wasn't in the top 3.

But I was in total agreement with the elimination. Though if the guy with the tatoos on his neck had gone, I wouldn't have minded, either.

I wonder what the big controversy they keep eluding to is.

I loved the white dress too. I also thought the coffee filter dress was very pretty and extremely creative!
