I live in Michigan and I am trying to save money and thinking of switching Auto Insurance companies. I'm with State Farm, but the cost keeps going up. I went Online to Progressive:surfweb: - and was quoted a lot less ,than State Farm monthly payment.
If you have Progressive, is it a good company to deal with??. What about if I need to put in a claim ??, does someone come to my house and talk to me about it ?. So many questions. TIA.

I just switched from Esurance to Progressive to save almost $50 a month..So far I like them, easy and painless. I did everything online. Though I have decided to not use the Snapshot Discount program them offer.

we use usaa for our cars.. will not change!

but they will not insure a motorcycle in the state of va. so we went with progressive. first year was great. i paid the entire year, no claims. renewal it raised by 100 bucks. for a motorcycle policy thats alot. the orginal policy was over 250. when i called to ask about the rate increase, customer service stumbled over their lack of answers. got alot of umm. and ill check etc. so i switched the motorcycle to geico. much cheaper policy :)

(side note.. i was an insurance agent for years. still licensed)

I had progressive for a bit and had no problems with them. We hit a deer during that period and there was no problem when getting our car repaired.

We had Progressive when we first moved to OK several years ago, and we were quite happy. I was involved in an accident where the other person's insurance did not cover everything, and our policy with Progressive included under insured/uninsured coverage and covered the rest - with a payout to us.

I called the morning after the accident to report it. It was a Sunday morning, and I had someone at the house that morning to look at the car, etc. They were great to deal with.

The only reason we switched is that they did not offer homeowners insurance when we first bought our house, and we found a company where the auto insurance was considerably less with the addition of the homeowners insurance. I see that Progressive is now offering insurance on homes, and I intend to check them out when it gets closer to renew our policies.

I have progressive for my boats and they did great. I made a claim on one of my boats last summer and it was smooth sailing.

We have had Progressive auto insurance for over 10 years now. I was in a minor fender bender last year that was the other driver's fault. I notified Progressive even though we were not planning to make a claim.

While my truck (Honda Pilot) was being repaired the other person's insurance company would only allow a economy car rental. They said if I wanted something better I'd have to pay the difference. The agent at Progressive negotiated with the other company and was able to get them to allow a minivan. Considering I purchased the insurance online and have never worked with an agent I was pretty impressed with the support I received.

Good luck!

We switched over to them a few months ago and have had no problems so far. I had to call them just last week to get a rock chip repaired in my new truck. No claim had to be made and no deductible had to be paid so I was happy!

I'll know if a day or so I guess. We have Progressive, just switched to them a few months ago, and my daughter was in a hit and run on Saturday. They were supposed to call me by noon today and it hasn't happened yet :rolleyes1, and it's nearly 4:00 p.m. but I'm hopeful for a smooth claim.

Not liking them now. I have to wait 10 days to get my car in for an estimate at one of their centers. Ridiculous. I have to drive my car that looks like a piece of junk now instead of getting it in for repairs right away. And I wasn't even contacted by my damage adjuster. My medical adjuster called and inquired how my daughter was doing since she was hit and run and just had some routine neck and back pain for a day and he transferred me to her and she was oblivious to anything. The accident occurred Saturday.

Pay now or pay later is what it amounts to. I work at a dealership and have seen a lot of customers get burned by Progressive. They have all sorts of things in fine print that isn't covered.

You know I never had a problem with progressive until out of the blue, they raised our rates greatly. I could understand if we had tickets/accidents etc. but we didn't have any of those. So since our home owners insurance was with Allstate i checked with them, they were even lower than our previous rate, and it continues to go down everytime we renew.
