Check-In Dates:

Please verify your groups are correct, and send me your Name, DISname, address, phone number and email address. I have swapped with many of you before, so I have many addresses, but I may be missing an email or a phone number, so please send.

I have

If you miss a check-in, I will PM/email you. If I do not hear from you 48 hours after that, your spots will be angeled. If you are going to be away for a check-in, let me know. For the March 1 check-in, please be specific with your progress, and list the groups you still need to finish and an anticipated mailing date (If you have not mailed already). I want to have a good sense that you will be able to accomplish your groups on time, or if we are going to need angels.

Packaging: Place your completed element in a Ziploc with your DISname, name and group number. Take all of your baggies for a group and place them in GALLON size bag, and label with the same. Since I am running both the Paper Piecing and Flocking swaps concurrently, please also list which swap that bag is for [Flock or Paper Piecing (PP) ]

Postage: Here are the prices for Flat Rate Priority Mail Shipping. Envelope - $4.95, Small Box - $4.95 (this is a new item for 2009), Standard box – $10.35, Large - $13.95. You may send to me, by any method you choose, but I would prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. However, if you want me to send by a different method, we can work that out. I won’t require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER the swap due date. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.65, and a filled out slip. If you are in the Paper Piecing swap too, I will send everything back in one box, so make sure you send enough to cover postage for both swaps (regular flat rate should be fine, for most people)

DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.

Due Date: This swap is due March 7, 2009. Your package should be in the mail by February 28 if sending first class, March 3 if you are sending Priority. I intend to only wait one week for packages that have been delayed by our lovely postal system, before I swap out. If you mail, March 8 or later, you must send Priority and you must include DC so I can verify the shipment and keep tabs on its status. I know emergencies can happen, and those will be handled on a case by case basis. However, Murphy’s Law seems to go into effect quite regularly around here. It seems like the longer we wait to start our groups the greater the chances of something bad happening. I will have a hard time holding up the return for someone who has a majority of their work still to do, at a time when they should be focusing on whatever issue is causing the delay in the first place.

Elements: Your Paper piecing should be a minimum of 4" in one direction. These should be able to fit in an 8x8 book, so don't go any larger than that. Even Cricut paper piecings have variable levels of difficulty. If your piece is fairly simple (3 colors plus base) consider mounting your piece on a tag, matted shape, etc, use the shadow feature, etc.

Groups Sizes: Groups are 6 people except those listed below

A: Make 3
B: Make 4
C: Make 5
D: Make 5

My groups are good. Although they are probably going to be faster than the MK swap, I must do those first, so they are on my list right after MK. :wave2:

I finished a group!!!!:cool1: This is my Tinkerbell for Group E:

My groups look correct. It looks like I'll be home alone on Saturday night so I might try out some of this then. My goal is to complete this before my trip in mid-February.

What size is she?
Was she hard to make? Did it take long?
I have the cart, but I've not made anything from it yet.

She was easier to make than I expected. This is the first thing I've made from the cart. The hard part, as in any face character, is the eyes and mouth. I gave up on them and just did my own thing. The pieces that cut for her eyes were just bits of nothing!!!!

The Tinkerbell is cut at 5 inches and the mushroom is cut at 3 1/2 inches and then I just glued her on top! She needed someplace to sit!:) Once she's sitting on the mushroom, the whole thing measures about 6 1/2 inches high.

Hi There! Just checking in...my groups look good. I wanted you to know that I have finished Pooh and Piglet. Mike is...half done. I will PM you my details now!

I sooo wish my kids still liked the Backyardigans. That is sooo cute.

Love the Christmas one too.

You Snow White turned out nice and I'm glad you didn't give up on the Cars.

Those are great! When you signed up, I had to Google the Backyardigans since I am ignorant of any kid things in the last oh, 15 years. I'm going to use Pablo for zoo pics of penguins, and Tyrone for Rocky Mountain NP pics, we bought a stuffed moose from there when we went before we lived here, and I figure there will be many picture taking opportunities now that we are here.

Those are good ideas! My boys love the Backyardigans -- actually of all the kid show, it is my favorite.

Those all look great Susan! I didn't know what a Backyardigan was either, but they are so cute. I get one of them!!!!! Snow White and her sisters all posing is great! I get one of them too!!!!!

I agree with you on the difficulty on making a Lightening McQueen. I made one for DS's birthday card and it was not easy!! Good job!!!
