I have a VCR/DVD player. I was trying to record a program, but have not been able to get this thing set up right. I have Direct TV. When I try and program the VCR, it only goes to channel 125 no matter whether I put it on TV or CATV (only two choices). YOu must shut the Direct TV box off when you program the VCR>
at least as far as I can tell.
Any body have any other ideas. Yes, I have read the directions.
It is an older VCR/DVD combo.
THanks.
Cathy

Some older VCRs won't work with satellite because they require two or more buttons to be pressed to tune in the channels (ie the numbers for the channels and then another button to enter the number.)

I'm going to have to get a TIVO aren't I :)

Thanks.

I have Dish and when I want to tape something I set the VCR to channel 3, and then set the Dish to the channel I want. We use to have Direct TV and you should be able to program it to come on by its self and just program the VCR to come on at the same time. Hope that makes sense.

Yes, that makes sense unless we want to watch something else at the same time......
Thanks.
Cathy
