I am giving some thought to trying digital scrapbooking. What kind of recommendations would you make regarding software to buy? I cannot afford the $600 for Photoshop. What is my best bet? I have an Apple iMac that I would be working on and would want the ability to have 12x12 pages printed at Costco.
I would really appreciate any information that all of you could share with me.

TIA!

Photoshop Elements and Paintshop Pro are very popular. Both run around $100 depending on sales/rebates

Definitely consider Photoshop Elements! For the price, it really is an amazing program and does soooo much of what Photoshop does, not to mention the learning curve is much, much less. I moved to Photoshop Creative Suite a few years ago after using Elements for a couple of years. If I would have jumped right into CS, it would have taken me forever to figure things out...the learning curve is steep. Although there are some things you can't do in elements, for digi scrapping, it's perfect! Keep your eye out...sometimes you can find elements with a rebate, usually at Sam's or Costco.

I started paper scrapping about 7 years ago and made the switch to digi about a year ago..I will NEVER go back to paper! Give digi a try, I'm sure you'll love it! It's addicting so beware! :)

HTH!

Good luck,
