The two recent posts about clots from BCP and all the subsequent stories has me concerned.
My 15 y/o was going to try to keep down another BCP over Christmas. The two types she has tried before have caused severe vomiting and nausea so she stopped taking them. She has ovarian cysts, endometriosis, completely irregular periods for five years, cramping and vomiting.
I have been reading about the progesterone only pill. It sounds like it is a good option in that there are fewer side effects with vomiting and nausea. However, I can't find anything regarding blood clots. Is this form of the pill safer in that regard? Obviously, we will be discussing this with the doctor but I wasn't planning on taking her in until November since she won't start taking it until the school break.
