erm it's a cartoon and although you presume he dies that 'thud' can be him comically bumping into a tree and living there with this female kiwi happily ever after. it's fake people use some imagination

I made this alternate ending up after I watched it.

The kiwi hits the ground and is lying on his back. Angels come to his body and are about to take his spirit up to heaven, when another angel who saw the whole thing tells them about everything the kiwi did just to feel like he was flying. The angels are touched by this and, instead of taking his spirit with them, lets him live, but also grants him a pair of angel wings. After lying unconscious for a few hours, he gets up. He looks around, and then feels himself with his new wings to make sure if he's really there. Then his eyes go wide and he looks down at his wings. The kiwi stands there for a bit, and then flies back up over the cliff, and flies down it.
