Proffered Annual Pass Parking

It says parking is free after first visit. Any way to get around paying for parking first time. Can I park somewhere else/ like a hotel and go to the gate to get pass? Sorry if this sounds dumb. *preferred...misspelled in title and I cant fix!

I would assume you can have someone drop you of at either one of the hotels, or at City Walk, then get your AP in the front of Islands or the Studios at one of the kiosks, then go back to the drop off location and be picked up. Then either go to parking in that drop off vehicle, or get your own vehicle, and park in garages. I think that's how most get around the first parking fee.

If you park at one of the on site hotels, they will charge you for parking, even if you are only going to be a few minutes.

And yay! New AP. Oh, and not dumb. Saving money is always a good thing.

Thank you so much. I will probably get them to drop me at city walk and walk to islands. We are very excited. We are Disney people really. But love universal. So just decided to get AP's so we can visit as well.

Seems a lot of work to get around a parking fee, but @Lynne G I think has it down. However, if you're doing something like that, I think the closest / easiest option would be finding a way to gain access inside HRH since it would be a little shorter of a walk and you're only dealing with hotel security, not the whole parking garage security, which typically at the HRH line either means you're the only one being checked, or you might have a few people there.

If you can have someone drop you off or take uber the closet drop off point that I've found is celebrity circle just on back side of HRH...(like previously stated the security line is next to nothing as usually only hotel guests entering there)..this puts you right near the universal globe and a short distance to guest service's...

You can go the night before. After 6pm parking is free. Or we've waited in the drop off/pick up parking while my DH ran in and got his pass and then parked and got the rest of our passes. That was back when you could pick them up at will call instead of the ticket window though.
