Profanity on On-Line ADR Site

Ok, so we planned a last-minute trip to WDW for July 4th. After reading about the on-line ADRs, I tried it for the first time. My husband and I couldn't believe the 2 words they used for the security check. (Capcha technology). Quite crude. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I just did a google search on capcha it came up with a technology to capture images. Sounds ok to me. I hadn't heard of it either.

I googled it & this was what I got "is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to ensure that the response is not generated by a computer" not quite sure what is crude about that.

It's when they ask you to type in the words you see above. DH develops software so he was using that term when we were looking at it. The words they used were inappropriate.

It's the "words" that are muddled that you have to type in to be able to complete your transaction. Supposed to deter robotic programs.

I didn't notice any profane ones, but I have seen ones that I just have NO IDEA what they're supposed to be at all.

I didn't see any words that I thought were profanity. However, there were some words that appeared that I did not know the meaning of, so they might have been profanity and inappropriate and and just didn't know what I was reading!


No questions are dumb -- I didn't know what the name of the security system was until I read the OP's post. Capcha technology is a security system that displays text is a wavy manner. You have to type the same text that you see.

I think she put it in parenthesis to tell us wherein the profanity lied. Not that "Capcha Technology" was the profane word.

I get it now. The fuzzy words are capcha, and you didn't tell us the "inappropriate" words. Silly me. I have made about 10 reservations online for my 4th of July trip. I haven't noticed anything inappropriate, but I sure don't know what the words are half the time. I wish you could tell us the words, it makes for a good story!!!!

Maybe you could private message the words. I am so intrigued! I have been doing all my reservations with daughter by my side. It could have been interesting.

I'll type them, but they will be blocked.

First word: Seeman (spelled just like that, not seaman)
Second word: twelve-inch (just like that)

Seems inappropriate to me.

I have a hard time figuring out what the letters are sometimes, but you can choose to change them, too.

I had to type in a word that was somewhat crude, but I can't remember now what it was. I wish I could remember, because the word surprised me.

actually, it might be a good idea to go back on the Disney website, and click on "contact us"...send them an email about your experience. My guess is the powers-that-be have no idea that crude words are being generated...in all the places I've encountered capcha tech. I've never seen anything upsetting (well, other than when I absolutely cannot read what the letters are supposed to be...that's upsetting! Reminds me I'm getting old)

ok. That's what I thought a capcha was. I was imagining way worse.
