How do you keep your hair from frizzing in high humidity? I have tried Living Proof, used keratin and still when I go to the parks my hair looks like frizzy straw. It is color treated and below my chin in a bob and normally straight and smooth. I do not want it to look flat but frankly, I have tried a number of products namely Frizz-ease, Living Proof, OUIDAD, Morrocan Oil, Crack( the hair product) and a bunch of others over the years none of them work.
I would appreciate any help I can get since I am heading to the land of Disney (aka Humidityland) at the end of next week. Has anyone used the Ouidad sheets on their hair?
TY

Not sure if this will help you but I am in the same boat, and I have come to the realization that for some of us frizzy hair in humidity is just what happens and we need to live with it. Or at least my hair I have to live with and I've tried THEM ALL in terms of products. That being said what works for ME currently are the Frizz Ease products. I also use leave in condition (Rusk? can't recall and I rotate them). It all depends on the length of my hair and time of year. I have recently chopped a lot of my hair off and have decided to just embrace & go with the curl. I also only use shampoo one a week if I can manage it. I fought the frizz & curl for 40 years and have recently given up and oh my goodness it's freeing - but was hard to come to the point of doing and I know it's not the option for everyone.

the above is a good site for reviews & product ideas, no matter your race makeup. I'm so white I glow in the dark, and my hair is naturally red, yet myself and a few cousins, as well as one brother have very wire-like, frizzy, coarse & curly hair.

The above link is a good place to start if you decide to embrace the curl, although I haven't specifically gotten a "Deva Curl" I've kinda sorta followed the idea on my own - I'm not big on dedicating to one product line as my hair needs change with the seasons.

Good luck! I'll be following along to see what others recommend because I'm always interested in learning new tips & reading suggestions on this topic!!

Thanks so much for the info. If I had curly hair I do not think it would be so bad because I would at least have some style to it but it just hangs and kind of looks like the packing frizz they put in boxes to keep fragile items from breaking...not curly not straight just ikcy. I try to ignore it but then I look in the mirror and ...... I know there are worse problems in the world and I probably should let it go LOL .....but I cannot. Thanks so much for the sites I am going there now

Brazilian Blowout. It's expensive but it works. I usually get it done a week before going on vacation. It lasts several months but does wear off.

I have curly hair that frizzes. I use AG Liquid Effects. It’s truly wonderful. If I let my hair air dry it does get crunchy, so I have to “de-crunch” it. If I blow dry with a diffuser, it doesn’t get crunchy.

Another tip is to avoid touching any strand of hair. If I don’t touch it, it doesn’t frizz.

You could also throw on a hat. In Disney we shower at night before dinner. My hair looks good for dinner, but I throw it in a bun or hat for the parks the next day.

Do not use any products that have alcohol in them. It dries out your hair which causes the frizz. Hair loves moisture. I have curly hair so I use products that are intended for textured hair but I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. I used to straighten my hair for years so I get it.

This is one of the products I use. I leave it in my shower and put just a little bit on my hair while it is still soaking wet. The hair soaks it up and the product really gets in there. I then dry my hair with only a cotton t-shirt. Towels also help to cause frizz. Doing this has done wonders for my hair.

Thanks so much for the info. I ordered Alterna spray and I had the AG which I will try again. Got them at Sephora and I will just return the ones that do not work. Jane Banks, do you know if Target carries the product you suggested in the store or do I need to get it on line?

I have tried a million different things and have yet to find a process that leaves it completely frizz free it in high humidity. The closest I have come is my current process - Monat shampoo & conditioner, Garnier Fructis smoothing milk on damp hair, and Joico Humidity Blocker Finishing spray on the dry finished style.

I use Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel. But, I leave my hair be when I use it, so it's wavy. I don't like having products in my hair with I blow dry it straight. I have never tried it on straight hair also because I hate blow drying my hair when it's hot out. They sell a travel size, that's how I got started with it.

Yes, you can buy it in store.

Back when I straightened my hair I used a serum with silicone, though I understand that it is very damaging. Worked great though!

May I suggest that you just embrace the waves/curls? Buy some mousse that is intended for curly hair, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT BRUSHING YOUR HAIR WITH A HAIRBRUSH AFTER YOUR SHOWER, comb a little bit of mousse through your damp hair, fluff it with your hands and go. Easy-peasy!!!

My hair is curly and will frizz like crazy in this southern humidity.

I don’t use anything particularly expensive. I don’t use shampoo, only conditioner. And never, ever one for more volume. Then after my shower, I use the Oddles of Noodles products. Spray to activate curls and a leave in conditioner. I do blow dry and scrunch my curls. Then I spray it with Tre Semme Climate Control hair spray.

Those products in that order is the only thing that really works for me.

I call summer, "pony tail" season. I get one last trim before summer starts and that's it as my hair is pretty much up in a pony tail all summer.

Try using a couple elastics on a pony tail. The first one in the usual place, right against the head. Then place one half way down the tail to hold the hair straight & together. If your hair is really long, place another near the end. I do this right after washing. I don't bother drying my hair, just pony tail it in place. Then when it's dry, I let out the tail. All the elastics have kept the hair straight till dry and throughout the day. :thumbsup2 So you may have pony tails in all your daytime pics. Then, when indoors at restaurants for dinner, have your hair down. But, at least your hair will look normal in some of your pics. :thumbsup2

I also do "co-washing" with my hair, where I use hair conditioner to wash my hair. (Google it. :thumbsup2) Basically, one hair product will work to dissolve & wash out other hair products. So using only conditioner WILL clean the hair & scalp without stripping the hair of essential oils and leaving it too dry. (Basically the WEN condtioning cleansers ares simply conditioner as shampoo, but you pay more than just picking any conditioner that works for you.) You do have to do more work to really work in the conditioner into the hair strands & scalp, AND to really rinse it out well, especially underneath at the scalp. Shampoo, on the other hand is thin, made to be sudsy and slide really easily by itself along the hair without much work. But, conditioner is purposely made thicker to stay in place, so one must move it along by hand, rub it in and rinse out really well. Or your hair could be accidentally left greasy feeling, especially the scalp by your neck, due to conditioner not being washed out fully.

I use a cheap conditioner for the quick wash, Anti-frizz VO5 with morrocan oil. I get it from the Dollar Tree for a dollar.:thumbsup2 It's thin and I can put a lot on to cover my hair without it getting expensive like the previously mentioned WEN conditioners. Saturate hair really well before applying. As a PP said, hair loves & NEEDS moisture. The conditioner will seal in the moisture while you are cleaning the hair. Then once it's rinsed out, I follow up with a good THICK conditioner: Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition conditioner. (Orange bottle.) I don't put it on near the scalp. Just more towards the top sections that will get all frizzy and especially on the ends. Rinse as usual.

When I do leave my hair down, I will follow all the above with Vidal Sassoon, Pro Series: Repair spray & finish. It's a leave-on spray. Comb the wet hair as little as possible. Spray on & rub into hair. Don't comb. It does get crunchy when dry. And I have to un-crunch my hair a little. But, my hair is not frizzy. :thumbsup2

I don't have this issue, many other hair issues but not this one, but I have a couple friends that have gotten Brazilian Blowouts and their hair survives Houston humidity with no frizzing, it really has worked wonders for them, although it is expensive.

The 2.5 year old boy child needs spackle put in his hair if I don't want him to look like a wild man...but now he has a "hip" haircut that's super short on the sides and longer on top; it's substantially easier to handle. My own hair is hopeless, so I should just wear it up the entirety of summer.

Yes I stumbled on this at Sephora even before I saw this post and tried to purchase it. Apparently it does work b/c it is sold out. It had great reviews. I do not hold out much hope for the products I purchased so hopefully, I will be able to get that one next. I am on a quest LOL. I am leaving next Friday so it is starting to get a little bit close to order on line. MAYBE Sephora at Disney Springs will carry it....I doubt it but fingers crossed.

I’m pretty sure Amazon sells it, if it does I’m getting some before I leave next Friday, they are sold out at my salon.
