We received our resale pack in the mail from MS today, and it contained a "Product Understanding Acknowledgement" that has "SIGNATURE REQUIRED ON REVERSE" at the top of the page, yet there is nowhere to sign on the back, and the bottom of the page says, "Sample Product Understanding Acknowledgement" and the contract number is 00000000.000 rather than ours.

Did you sign and return this, or is it just a sample?

There should be a phone number to call with questions included with the forms. I would call and ask. Why take our advise and risk a mistake that will cause you a delay? :confused3

You will probably get a phone call in a few weeks from "quality control" asking if you received it and have any questions.

I think you need to call, but since you bought resale, I think they are making sure you know about these things. They are technically under no obligation to inform you of any of these policies but are entitled by law to enforce any and all of them against you. It is the seller's responsibility to transmit all of these materials to you and the sale is supposed to be contingent on all of the documentation given to the original seller. So, they are being courteous (and smart) in passing this along, but I doubt that you need to sign anything, but you should check.

There's no chance of delay - since I bought resale, I'm already in the system and ready to go. This is just the pro forma communication that resale purchasers receive from DVC. I was surprised to find the sheet in there, especially given that there was no cover letter or instructions on where to return if even if I did sign it.

As for why to ask others for help, Member Services was closed when I got home last night, and it seemed likely that on the DVC boards there would have been at least one person who bought resale and who had been through the same thing. So to save myself worry, I thought I'd just make a quick post and see what others had found out when they bought via resale. :)

That would be nice! Member Services didn't know the answer to the question when I contacted them today, so they sent me to Member Administration. All three options for Member Admin are completely inapplicable, but I tried all three and was unsuccessful in getting a human all three times. Bummer!

I've come to the conclusion that I'll follow their request to the letter. It says to sign the form, but nowhere does it say to return it...or even where it might be returned to. So, I've done what they asked, and I'll leave it at that until they give me further instructions. ;)

Thanks for the response!
