I'm in the process of making t-shirts for our family vacation. I got the transfer paper and followed the directions to the letter and it works okay but you can see the outline of the paper on the shirt and it doesn't iron down around the edges very well so they peel and it looks horrible. Is there someway to get around this or better yet, does anyone know if you can buy transfer paper that's clear, not white? I've used the Print and Press transfer paper and the Avery transfer paper. Any help would be great.

I have only used the Avery dark paper recently. I didn't have any trouble getting it to adhere around the edges. Is your iron good and hot? Did you press harder than you think you need to? The directions say to use 100% cotton shirts, but my 50/50 came out fine, too.

They do make clear transfers. They are the ones listed for white/light colored shirts. I had real problems with cracking and peeling the last time I used these, though I had done a few small designs in the past without problem. The color of the shirt will show through as any white on your design. Also, the colors will be a little muddied if you use anything but a white shirt.

I am starting to make my T-shirts today. I hope that I don't have any glitches, and I hope that you get your problems fixed, too!

Aww. I'm sorry. It can be discouraging. Um, they do make transfer paper for light or white shirts that is "clear." The ones for dark shirts will show up white wherever there is white.
Are you trimming you design down as much as possible? Make sure you follow those instructions to a T. I always have to go over the edges a few times and put a lot of weight on them.
