So we're going to NY in a couple days to pick up our new-to-us camper. Wahooo!!

Out of curiosity, I tried to see if I could get some December ressies at the Fort for a campsite. Kept getting bounced to a cabin/another resort, with the message that there was a prob with the resort I wanted for the dates/number in the party.

No biggie. I tried October. Same message. November. Jan. Feb. NEXT September. Tried changing the number of people (from 3 to 4), making it a week, a couple days, one night...nada?!

I switched to a different browser! Wailed and gnashed my teeth! Went and scrubbed the toilet!

Came back...still no campsites open, any time, any date, for any size party.

Obviously, something's wrong. Anyone ever have this problem? Just a glitch? Or are they anti-polkadots?

try lengthening the time you are booking for...sometimes i have to book a month and then cut down the days later

I would make sure you have Campsites highlighted. If you just do Campground it will default you to cabins or "alternate suggestions"

Alison

I'll give both these suggestions a try -- thanks! I'm just baffled b/c I've done this about a quadrillion times and never been so bamboozled. Maybe I'll just blame free dining? ;)

I'm going back in...

Bingo! I've found this as well. When the results come up, click on Edit on the left side of the screen, and in the drop down box for resorts click on Campsites, not just Campground. It's odd and poorly designed on Disney's part...but if I do this it usually works.

To be sure, I would call for reservations.

You can fix the problem by choosing "campsites" from the very first window where you begin the reservation process. (The same window where you choose package/room only/tickets only and put in your dates and number of people in your party.) Click on "I know the resort I want" and there will be a drop down list of every Disney resort. this is where you should scroll down almost to the bottom of the list and pick "campsites."

I had the exact same problem... I know your frustration. I finally called and talked to someone and ended up getting the campsite dates I needed. Wishing you the best of luck!

I have had to do what Dave does. It'll let you select the resort on the first page, but thinks you want to spend hundreds on a cabin... then I have to go to edit and select ft wilderness campground... not just ft wilderness resort.

Good Luck... it's been giving me issues too for booking Halloween 2010. I just haven't though of calling during the daytime hours when they're actually there, I think of this stuff at 3am when I should be asleep.

I tried using the ressies site and choosing the campsites option. In the end I
called and got my space for a week later than I had wanted. But I am there
on my birthday which was important to my wife. The nice lady I talked with
said the problem with Dec. dates were the snowbirds and the remodeling. She
did offer to put us in a cabin for a night, for $265/night. I declined. Think I will
make next years reservations before I leave the campground.

We ALWAYS call 499 days in advance. You can't do sooner than that. We've been camping at the Fort for 12 years straight, and we used to be able to make our reservations from one year to the next right at the front desk. No any longer.

"WDW accepts room-only reservations over the phone up to 499 days in advance. This means that for a vacation in October of 2010, you could reserve sometime in June of 2009. However, while you can make a reservation, room pricing and packages for 2010 will not be available for a few more months (likely in July or August). What you can do is reserve the room now and modify your reservation as needed when more information becomes available. To get started with your reservation, give Disney a call at 407-W-DISNEY."

I agree they must be having trouble. I was looking for dates for Halloween in 2010 and I tried a week to a few days and their website said all that was available was the cabins. And I even changed it twice to campsites. I guess i will also call.
