Problems with buying the new MYW tickets????

My DH just got back from the DS and they said they couldn't sell the new tickets...apparently they can't sell the tickets @ the parks either. the are supposedly having a problem with the computer system. Anyone else hear of this??? What would they do let everyone in for free????
 
Per a CRO CM, they will more than likely not be selling the MYW tickets at the Disney Store. His explanation...since the Disney Store was bought out, they will not have the new machinery/technology to make these MYW tickets in store, especially now that they will be personalized.
 
The CRO CM is mis-informed. The Disney Stores will be selling the new tickets. The computers are just currently down. It happends periodically even with the old tickets.

That's right and I completely forgot about that. I know you can still get them at AAA since a CM told me that earlier.
 
But the lady at the DS said they were having trouble selling them at the parks today too???

That would be the case if the Disney computers are down and no body could look the information up.
 
I talked to WDW travel yesterday (the 1800 number) to try to fix a mistake in a May Ressivation (they have us down as 3 adults in a room instead of 2, 15 more a night.) But I was not able too since the computers were down because of the swtich over to MYW tickets. I thought it would be fast if they actually got it fixed in just one day. Apparently the comerical on the rose bowl was wildly succesful and they were just swamped with calls and no one could book rooms. He told me to wait a few days to call back to fix my ressie problem since there were antispating many many calls Jan 2nd. Infact they had hired 200 seasonal people just to answer questions about the new ticket system. I seemed to know more about the new tickets then he did. (you can learn a lot on the internet. )

We were at WDW last year this time. Rather glad we aren't today. I like going better in Feb and March anyway, that way it is more the middle of the winter for us and not as long until spring once we come home again.
 
Yes they are selling the new tickets however the computers were down. He said that they are not selling the AP with DVC discount however.
 
I wonder whats happening to the people who arrived at the World today to start their vacation with no tickets, because they thought they would be able to buy them today. I'm sure Disney is spreading them some Disney Magic.

I am hearing conflicting information. I am now being told that some of the computers are down and some aren't and it just depends on which CM you get.

That was the case when I called this morning. The first CM couldn't help me because his computer was down. He put me back in the que and the next CM was able to help me.
 
The computers were up and down all day. The system was taken completely down last night around 9pm to upload the new ticket system. When it came up, around 5am, there were some glitches that they were working out. Some hotels were fine, others were not, it varied from computer to computer and place to place...like any new computer software glitches will occur.

Not to worry though those that were there did not have to sit in their hotel room and no they did not get into the park for free. They have tickets pre-made that are basically one day tickets, if the system is not working they will issue a pre-printed one day ticket and have you come back when ticket system is working again.
