Problems with BCV availibility?

We usually stay at BWV in July, in a 1 or 2 bedroom, and haven't had a problem the last 3 years getting a reservation. This year, the kids wanted to stay at BCv, so I called for a midJuly reservation, and needed to waitlist! For those of you with BCV experience, is this normal? I didn't care if it was a dedicated, or lockoff, but we need 2 bedrooms! I'm hoping a waitlist will come through, but was wondering, is something special going on mid July?

It's just a very small resort compared to BWV and so there aren't as many rooms and a lot of competition for the at the 7 mo mark. Also since it is the summer, I'm sure a lot of people want to stay there for SAB. We were fortunate enough to get in for 3 nightsc for our March trip after staying in the THV for 4 days. I called right at the 7 mo mark and they were wide open - I was even able to get a dedicated 2 berm. Hope your wait list comes through. Did you book somewhere else for the time being?

In my opinion BCV is very popular and therefore difficult to book. We love the location and my DH prefers it over BWV. Our home resort is OKW so when we've stayed at BCV we were waitlisted, but it did come through.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for the waitlist! If nothing shows up within the next month or so, I may look at BWV, or possibly Vero. I forgot how small BCV was!

I've waitlisted, unsuccessfully, more than once at BCV when trying to use my SSR points. I'm glad the bulk of my points are BCV.

Am I understanding correctly that you don't have any room booked at the moment? If you really want to travel at that time you should book something else. You can keep the BCV waitlist and if it fills the other reservation will cancel.

All of the above. BCV is a smaller resort, very popular, even more popular in the summer months due to SAB (a favorite of kids of all sizes). The only times we've managed to get in at the 7 month window was during slower times of the year (and a little luck).

I called yesterday to book a 2-bedroom for the end of June. I fully expected to have to stay at SSR. We just decided to plan this trip, after the passing of my father-in-law, and so I knew I was only 6 months away. I love BCV and asked to just check. I was surprised that they had four of our seven nights available. However, I didn't want a split stay. I then checked BWV and they had six of the seven nights available. They then checked VWL and they had all seven nights! We booked VWL. I was happily surprised at the availability at six months. I love my DVC membership and so happy to be able to use it often!
