Problems getting strollers through gate?

We are going to WDW for the first time, and I apologize if this is a question ask time and again, but I didn't find what I was looking for when I searched.

We have a double (side-by-side) jogger that I want to bring. Really only the 20 month old needs a stroller, but I know the 3 year old and maybe even the 5 year old might need a rest so I want to bring it. I was researching about taking it on buses and it seems like it might be a huge pain, but then someone mentioned not being able to get through the gate with theirs and then I started to worry. Could this be an issue? It's not the most fancy/compact folding thing out there. It's just what we have and there's no way I'm talking DH into another one. The other option would just be to take a single stroller for the baby I guess.

Thank you!!

There are gate wide enough for stroller and WHEEL CHAIRS... just keep in mind the line might be a lot longer than the normal gate.

Our last trip, exiting the magic kingdom getting on the boat for the TTC it was VERY crowded. We followed the "heard" with our 2 year old asleep in the stroller. Just before getting onto the boat, there are gates. Apparently the far LEFT (we were on the right, LOL) has a wider gate for strollers/wheel chairs (had a nice big sign right over it). Hubby and I lifted our daughter including the stroller (thankful a lightweight stroller) over the turn-style. There was no way we were going to make it to the other side of the crowd!!!

So, do all strollers have to go through the stroller gates? We'll have to have a stroller either way, since the baby will need one for sure.

At the parks they do, as the other gates have that metal push bar you need to go through.

If I remember correctly... All parks (boats & monorails) have gates. There are two kinds... turn-styles and swinging gates. The stroller/wheelchair lane has the swinging gate.

There are hundreds of strollers @ Disney... you should have no problem if you stroller is a standard double (wide). Doorways, gates, etc. have to accommodate wheelchairs by law. Most have a measurement of 30 inches wide @ a minimum.

When my boys were a little younger, we used some sort of Babytrend jogger. (Forget what it was called right now, but I would not recommend it!) It definitely did have issues with gates. Almost all the gates at MK were a bit of trouble, and getting it through took a little effort. For some crazy reason, the turnstiles closer to the ends (far left/right on each side, if that makes sense.) worked better when leaving. The first on the right side, according to dh, is best going in. We had no issues at any of the other parks.

What kind of stroller do you have?

I have taken our single jogger for each of our previous 8 trips and have never had an issue getting through gates. My recollection is that every turnstile is no more than 1 over from an "accessible" entrance capable of accommodating a stroller or wheelchair. Even when have found ourself in a line that was 1 over from an accessible gate, we still entered our tickets and then someone directed us over to the open gate to go through instead of the rotating style turnstile.

When you exit a park, particularly at crowded times, look for the waving white mickey gloves -- those are usually CM's directing you to stroller/wheelchair exits.

We are taking a double jogger for the first time in June, but haven't had any concerns based on the strollers I've seen being used at Disney and my previous experience with stroller use at all of the parks.

I have a babytrend double jogger that I take to Disney. The only place we have a problem is at MK. However, if you are facing the gates while entering the park, go all the way to the left. at the very end there is a double gate and every CM we have had has been more than happy to open it to let us in or out. Nowhere else did we have a problem. It will be going back with us on the next trip as well.

According to the WDW official website there is a maximum on stroller size! I don't know how strict they are about enforcing it but I guess forewarned is forearmed right?

"Items that you may not bring into the theme parks include but are not limited to:

Snip- the other items...

Strollers larger than 36" x 52" (92 x 132 cm)"

OP--I think your bigger worry should be the buses. You need to be able to fold your stroller down quickly, and it needs to be fairly easy to hang on to. If you are lucky enough to all get seats, someone still needs to hold onto the stroller, and keep it right up next to them so others don't trip on it. And you may end up having to stand on the bus, and still hold the stroller and your kids and all of your stuff. You don't want a stroller that is huge and hard to handle.

I want to say the gates at the parks are 32" wide not sure but this comes to mind. just measure your stroller
