Problems getting Cruise Incentives - Anyone else??

Back on January 11th, my wife and I took the 4-day cruise on Disney. We decided to buy more points, but intentionally waited until the cruise for the additional incentives. I called my guide to let her know I was buying more points and to see if she could get the credit for the sale, but I still get the cruise incentives. She was very happy to get the credit for an additional 320 points and promised that I would get the cruise incentives ($500 cabin credit and two years to use the DP's on DCL). All I had to do was to see the DVD representative on the cruise to prove I was there and I would get the additional cruise incentives.

I never got the cabin credit while on the cruise. Called my guide and she blamed it on the guide on the cruise. I was told I would get a $500 Disney gift card instead. The gift card has never come. Twice she told me she checked the tracking number and it would come the next day via Fed Ex.

So now it has been two weeks since it was supposedly sent overnight by Fed Ex. I have nothing in writing and the 10 day period to change my mind is up on Tuesday (10 days to cancel contract once you sign it). Now she doesn't answer my phone messages.

Has anyone else had trouble like this in getting the cruise incentives?

thanks :scared1: :scared1:

I would imagine the gift card would not arrive before the closing was completed. You can imagine if they sent these $500 cards out and then had people cancel the contracts (within the rescind time period).

We had a very long wait when we referred a new member. Our reward Disney Dollars took about 8 months to arrive! Initially, it was because we had to wait for their contract to close... I am sure you will receive your gift card, hang in there ! :)

So sorry to hear of your issues, OhioDVC!

It's my understanding that you actually need to *buy* while onboard to receive the DCL-exclusive incentives. The commission is then split equally between your guide and the onboard guide that assists you with completing the paperwork relating to the purchase.

When we purchased 283 BLT points in November, the $500 credit actually posted to our account the same day that we signed our docs and made payment arrangements. We also received a special booklet detailing the DVC point discounts available if we wished to book another cruise within 3 days of disembarking the ship. Once arriving home, we did call to book our next cruise using the DPs we received on this purchase.

Call the sales number and ask to speak to a Manager. Your Guide not returning calls is inexcusable and it should be addressed.
