Problem with booking a regular room with points

I just bought a resale and have lots of extra points to burn due to banking. I also have points that need to be used by the end of Feb so I will just have to let them go. Any ways I wanted to book at the Polynesian for my daughters 16th B-day in Oct. There is nothing available. I did not think there would be a problem so far out but apparently there is. Is this common? Is there a chance something will become available later? Any advice on what I should do?

Why not book a DVC room? I'm sure there would be something available for that time period.

And if you book a DVC resort, you won't have to pay the $95 reservation fee.

You can go on the rent/trade board and either try to rent them or donate them to someone who is in need of some points.

I did book a two bedrom. But she wanted the Poly for her 16th B-day and we had been planning it ( 3 years)before my husband bought me BC DVC for Christmas. I thought I would try since I had all the points. I was just wondering if any one has had any luck or problem with booking regular rooms.

Assuming you weren't trying to use points that would be expired for the October Poly reservation, I'm very surprised that nothing was available.

If it were me, I'd call back and try again. Hard to believe the Poly is fully booked for October already. I think there was some type of miscommunication or maybe an inexperienced MS CM.
