Problem with advancing Pirate levels

I have run into a problem with DH's character as far as reaching Level 3 in the Pirates game. He has definitely played and won 10 games at Level 2, got the message to go see Blackheart, but he still can not play Level 3. He tried starting a Level 3 game, but got a message saying he needed to do the 10 games thingy

I have heard others talk about this happening to them or a friend, so I was hoping someone could help me with this. Do I need to contact VMK or is he just going to be a Level 2 pirate forever

Also, out of curiousity, what is the difference between the levels, besides Level 3 handing out Pirate Hat after Pirate Hat?

1st - If you haven't already, try going back to Blackheart again. Sometimes that works.

2nd - I do not know if all 10 games have to be won in the same type of game (i.e. battle or capture). Are all 10 wins on his character on the same game type?

3rd - If the wins were in battle and against ONLY AIs, I think I have heard they don't count.

Maybe someone else has some other suggestions.

They do have to be the same type game so make sure to stay with the same game. As far as ai's, I use them on my mule accounts I am trying to get to level 3 because I hardly ever get anyone to play level 2, so that should not be the problem. Also vmk has a bug and sends out that message before you even get to 10 games won on a level, so I always check each time I get a key and see how many games it says I have won. When it says 9, I win one more and go see the captain.

I get the message sent to me all the time before I am able to play the next level, so just don't listen to it, just watch the count from the keys.
