Problem w/ ADRs 90+10

I'm checking into AKV (Kidani) on Aug. 9th. Today is my 90 day mark for making ADRs. I called at 7AM and gave them my DVC conf#, but they claim they have no record of me in their system, and thus can't make reservations for any day other than Aug. 9th. I can't make ADRs for the rest of my trip, like I should be able to.

Anyone else experience this?

I'm going to call MS during my break at work later today, but it's a bit more hassle for me. Wish it would have gone the way it was supposed to. Hope I can still land a Fantasmic Dinner Package for the 13th.

I had problems with MS having the dining plan on my entire vacation, they had it for the first 2 days only (???) and could not make reservations for me past that. I still have not called, as we probably will not do many TS meals now, but I hope you get your problem worked out! good luck!

That's funny - are you sure you're using the right confirmation number?

Coincidentally, we are also checking in 8/9 at Kidani, and I was able to use my res# this morning to make reservations for the duration of our 10 day trip (6 days kidani + 4 SSR).

Perhaps there are special restrictions for Mets fans - seems about right.

Funny stuff about Mets fans. Gave me a chuckle.

Called MS, and they claim it was a "technical glitch" caused by my waitlist coming through. The waitlist came through back in March.

Anyway, it's all worked out, and I got what I wanted, so no big deal. I wasted my break, but it could have been worse.

It was my first time making my ADRs through MS, and their computers are SSSSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWW. Took a good 3-4 minutes per ADR for availability to come up.

We are checking on Aug. 16th--never travelled to WDW in Aug. before, so we're a little nervous about the free dining available and if we'll be able to get the reservations we want. Our favorites are favorites with alot of other people,too--Hoop De Doo, Chef Mickey, etc. Did you have any luck getting what you wanted, or were things pretty booked?

I got exactly what I wanted, but my ADRs did not overlap w/ free dining. I got Sanaa for 5PM on the 10th, which is exactly what I wanted, and the Fantasmic Dinner Package for 3:55 in the 13th. All my other ADRs are for after I check out of my DVC, so I'll have to call at the 90 day mark. I am a little concerned about the Chef Mickey's breakfast ADR, and I want Crystal Palace at 8:05, but all the others are places and/or times that should be pretty easy to land. No CRT or Le Cellier this trip for us.

We're also going down on Aug. 16th which now turns out to be the start of free dining. The WDW dining line opens up at like 7:00 am. Is it safe (smart) to wait for DVC MS to open at 9:00 for things like the Fantasmic pkg. now that they've cut back on the number of shows per week??? I know the time slots for the pkg. are already limited anyway & I'm afraid all the free diners will snap up the best times (which for us would be the latest time available). My DS's bus comes around 7:20 in the mornings so I figured I'd call as soon as he's out the door but am dreading what the phone lines might be like that early. Anybody have experience competing with the free diners before???

I'd try and call before MS opens for the Fantasmic package. When I talked to MS today there was only a 3:55 package left on Aug 13th. It sounded like everything else was gone.

I had absolutely no problems last year. HOWEVER, last year I had booked my ADRs 180+10 days in advance and that was way before the Free dining was even announced. So now, I am expecting a lot of problems with getting the ADRs I want. I wished I didn't have to go during the free dining promotion, especially since I'm not getting "free dining"!

I am really NOT happy about the change to 90 days!

I for one am glad they dropped the ADR's back to 90 days (30 would've been better in my book) but what I DON'T like is that they're starting the free dining this early in August this time. We've gone this week before and the free dining started after we left. Not that I would do it differently with our dates but I might start if they're gonna pull this crap. We like to have a year every other year where we go the first week of that August "Dream" season so we can back it up a week and go earlier every other year to use our AP's to their fullest AND as a bonus save a few points every other year. This just irritates me that they expanded the dates into "our" time, ya know?! We may have to start traveling always in "Magic" season if this is gonna be their new pattern. We'll have to see how this goes. The only ressie I am really concerned about getting is the Fantasmic pkg tho. Some weeks in August they only have it 2x but this week they have it 3x so that is lucky I guess.

I hear ya! I thought we were so slick. Our DVC stay starts on Aug 16 and goes through August 23rd. I thought we would be leaving WDW on the day free dining started. I'm just not looking forward to making those ADR's with all the free diners. Sigh.
